Thanks tasty-snacks and yes I got the three day message and then the next one giving account details etc
. Thank you! When you say you transferred the cash electronically do you mean you did an online banking pyt? I tried to go into the online banking account but put wrong dtails in they said and locked the account! Great!:( Husband is away until Sunday and just said don't forget to do the ISA! Oops! Hopefully he will be able to sort the bank out where he is!
Edit; just found local Santander bank 10mins drive away so can always go and put cheque in tomorrow if necessary. Phew!0 -
If you know the sort code and account number can't you transfer the money from another account. If you ring Santander they will unlock the account and also move the money for you. This is their freephone number 0800 681 6691"Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"0

thanks for reply RB
Just checked and its an Online ISA Issue 3, so looks like maybe able to add when new year starts again but now sure how it works.
If I add what interest will i get, the 2.80% for the new money and 3.10% for the previous money.
Then in October as the bonus disappears on the old money and drops 1% will i have to reinvest that in whatever NAtionwide rate will be then. SO confusing :rotfl:
You can add the 2013/14 allowance to the same account, you'll earn 3.1% on the total balance.
Then just make a diary note to review again in October.0 -

Thanks typistretired. Bank is NatWest not Santander. However I have already spoken to them and they can't unlock the account as my husband is the main online banker (!) although I have access and they have authority to talk to me about it (!) but anyway they transferred the money across for me as we spoke. Phew! All done thankfully:).0 -

If as you say Nationwide may be doing new deals from Saturday
http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/saving/article-2303903/Building-societies-make-launch-cash-Isas-new-tax-year.html
"Nationwide is launching two new cash Isas on Saturday. The Flexclusive Isa Issue 3 will pay 2.5 per cent, which includes a one per cent bonus until 30 November 2014 and is available to FlexAccount, FlexDirect and FlexPlus current account customers - and to new customers who opt to open one of Nationwide’s current accounts.
It says that making this available to existing customers ‘reinforces its strategy to reward those who have a deeper relationship with the society’.
Those who do not hold their main current account can apply for the Easy Saver Isa Issue 1, which pays a lower 2.25 per cent. This includes a 1.75 per bonus until 31 October 2014.
The minimum opening balance for both is £1, with a maximum deposit of £5,760 allowed in.
For the Flexclusive offer, customers need to have paid a minimum of £750 a month (excluding internal transfers) for the last three months."

Opened my new FD ISA today. Had 3 previous FD ISAs which as they have nothing in will be closed and I'm transferring my Nat West ISA money over in the next few days and putting in this year's money as soon as they give me my account no. and it will mean I've got the full 3% interest and its in my existing bank and so much easier to transfer into and out of in the future.0

Just put my full isa allowance for this year 2013-2014 into my Nationwide Online ISA Issue 3 which pays 3.10% until September 30th 2013. I had to confirm an online form for tax purposes saying I was renewing my ISA to put more money in it. Does this mean I cannot open an ISA with a decent interest rate, which allows transfers into it this tax year, then put nothing in it until after September 30th 2013 when my Nationwide interest drops."Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"0
