Cov online access 6 is being pulled tonight for new applications
Thank you for this @robinhoodsavings I was unsure whether or not to apply, because it is limited access, but @section62 makes a good point - we don't want to not open it, then miss out if it is made better later.

Coventry limited access 6 applied for here. Annoyingly they have to send us something in the post as it's a joint account (in spite of the fact that we are both existing account holders and they could simply email OH to ask him if he's OK with it!) so allowing for the state of our postal service currently it is pretty likely to be next month before we actually see the account being opened. Annoying as I wanted it to dump the contents of the soon to be maturing regular savers from the same provider into. Sigh.
@EssexHebridean  Try a solo each - literally 1 minute to open on line when you're logged in.

Open it. One thing I've found is that it pays to open easy access savings accounts with reasonable, if not top rates - especially if they have a minimum deposit of £1. I opened the paragon triple access saver when it paid something like 2.6%. 3 weeks later they withdrew the account and raised the rate to 3%.

I opened the Coventry 6 access saver the day they launched the account. Once I've got my money out of Monmouthshire's Premium Instant account, which should hopefully be by the end of the month, it shall be heading to Coventry.

    EDIT:
Monmouthshire has now approved my nominated account for transfers, clearly they've just received/processed my bank statement.

Can you apply for both a solo and a joint account ?
  • Coventry's account opening procedure is the best in the business in my view.

Applied for a Coventry non online online account, 3 weeks later received application form to return to them. Because of the delay I had decided not to proceed so returned the form unsigned with letter of explanation. Today received the application form again with letter saying they cannot open the account as I hadn't signed the form. Not exactly the best account opening in Coventry never mind the business. Went elsewhere  (Chorley and Principality) both opened accounts in 5 minutes and now funded -- not 8 weeks with Coventry.
  • Think Coventry is still the best option. I wish they had an app, but I think the .25% difference between that and the closet rival with an app is too much to turn down. Any less and I might not go for it.
I suspect Coventry are working on an app, as they were advertising for Android App developer roles on job websites is the summer.

If you are on their user community forum, you can see that they have been considering an app for a number of years.
