Learned something new today. Re: Ford money 2.5% easy access tried and failed to open an account today, process would not recognise my nominated account, reason likely because I have already taken out the maximum today.

To get around this I could use an alternative current account. My question is when the Ford account is up and running can I amend the nominated bank details to my preferred account later?

Yes, there is an option to change your nominated bank account via their online banking site (not the app though by the looks of it).

I tried opening one of these today for my mother, and also couldn't get past the nominated account stage (the first time I have encountered this problem with any bank); tried another account of hers, but it still wouldn't accept, so I think the problem is with Ford Money, not you/us?

They do have a curious habit of adding a whole load of '0's to the start of stored 8-digit nominated account numbers - so it is quite plausible there is some kind of issue with their system not liking particular numbers, or being grumpy until the zeros-padding has been added by some kind of internal process?

Do Ford Money generally pass on interest rate increases to existing customers, or do these tend to be for new customers only? Also, does anybody have any experience of their customer support? Helpful? Long waiting times?

Tried an alternative current account, still no joy. Funny, reading comments on here Ford Money appears to be an easy account to open and operate.

Really wanted to open account just for the £1 and see where we go forwards.
