Yorkshire have reduced the internet saver 2.10% and are trying to flog a 3 year bond with a 3% interest rate. That bond is not a good deal.

I applied for the City Bank account. How long does it take to get the email?

I have been thinking I have about £1000 in the HSBC online bonus saver the rates have gone so low. The reason why I have kept it there is that it is my back up money and just in case I needed it.

Can anyone recommend me a good savings account with easy access via faster payments.

I have a Tesco Internet Saver which accepts and sends faster payments and have had no problems with them. I have read on the site that some people had problems opening up an account but when I opened mine it all went pretty smoothly.

    Hope this helps...

I applied for an account with Citibank last Saturday I have not heard anything back so I telephoned them yesterday and it turned out that my identity search failed to verify my identity and now I need to provide proof of address and ID. I was thinking of going to the branch on Tuesday as I live in E1 and I have no problem going to the branch. I don't know what to take as I still don't have the email telling me what to do and the woman on the phone was not very clear.

So what are you asking? What ID to take?
Standard ID you've used for every account you've applied for in the past. If in doubt, take extra: passport, driving licence, utilities, statements etc

Depends which account you have. Search here for rates and T & Cs.

I was writing in regards to this:

Thank you for requesting a Citibank account.

We are currently processing your application and will contact you shortly by e-mail with your account number.

If you have any questions about your application please call our Account Opening team on 0800 00 88 00 (between 8am and 8pm, Monday to Friday), quoting your application reference number removed.

We look forward to welcoming you as a Citibank customer.

    Regards,
    Citibank
    www.citibank.co.uk

As I thought that I may have needed an account number to be sent to me it turns out I don't as they just sent me an email telling me what to do.

This is my lucky day all I had to do was follow the following link and verify my ID. No visit to the branch. More banks should do that.

I am not sure about the bank but I thought that some people maybe interested. United Bank Limited are offering a 3 months notice gold account at 3.5%. I have contacted them and I will let you know what they tell me. http://www.unbankltd.com/assets/pdf/UNB%20BankAccount%20Rates.pdf
