Santander
Well that's me spending an evening reducing a whole host of Regular Savers standing orders to a minimum!3 -
It's not a 'fix' where you can't make withdrawals though - yes the bonus is only for 12 months, but you can just withdraw from the account if and when a better rate comes along. So it's still by far the best easy access option out there for now.SAC2334 said:
The issue is open until 1 st Nov.. Its not as good as it looks as you are fixed for one year .Most of the 2.75% is paid as an annual bonus of 2.55 % . Not for me this one .kaMelo said:Thanks for the heads up, opened immediately as I don't see this lasting long.7 -
no current account needed - it's just a savings account and if you can login to mobile/online banking, you should be able to open it from there.S_uk said:I closed my 123 account with Santander a number of years ago but can still log in using my old user ID. Do I need to open another current account to use this account to make withdrawals? it says you need another account to do this so was wondering which was the best one to open just for the purpose for getting and using this new account for savings.

Everyday CA is just straightforward CA, with DC. No mthly charges like 123 & Lite.S_uk said:I closed my 123 account with Santander a number of years ago but can still log in using my old user ID. I selected 'Monthly' Interest, will i not get 2.75% (or the monthly equivalent) on my balance every month?1 -
Thanks. I feel a bit stupid now - when it says you can make withdrawals I can see it just meant to any other account with another provider elsewhere, not via another Santander account. WIll be opening this and transferring from Zopa for another 0.9%!janusdesign said:

I opted for the monthly interest, @Freebird53, and the Interest rate is showing as 2.72% in the app which will be the rate they use to calculate the monthly interest.Freebird53 said:SAC2334 said:The issue is open until 1 st Nov.. It's every bit as good as it looks. The enhanced interest rate lasts for a year. It is paid monthly or annually - your choice.SAC2334 said:

Can you tell me a better place to save a lump sum for a year with access if I need it? (I've already got the 5% on £5k at Barclays).3
