For those who want to save more than £1000, with no strings attached..subjecttocontract said:Virgin M Plus current a/c?1 -
Probably a silly question but NS&I pay interest (1.4%) annually. They paid out back in April. I am now thinking of transferring to a different account that offers better rates. Will the interest accrued between May and now still be paid to me by NS&I or would I forego this once the money is moved - and therefore tied into keeping it there until next April ?Increasingly money-conscious

You get all the interest earned. If you close the account, you get the interest paid now. If you leave the minimum £1 in there to keep the account open, your interest will be paid when they next pay interest in April 2023.oligopoly said:Probably a silly question but NS&I pay interest (1.4%) annually. I know that.. hence I was indirectly asking (my comment was an addition to my original one) for when an account will appear that pays 2.00% easy access with no strings attached...subjecttocontract said:

Yes Issue 53 (opened 5/8/22) automatically updated for me to the new 1.85% rate.whatleytom87 said:
I can’t recall where it shows on the Online Bank, but the 1.60% rate was Issue 53 so you will benefit from the uplift.SpanishBlue said:How do you know which issue number you have?I opened the latest issue (1.60%) on 5th August, but issue shows as blank when I look online.
Not that it was much of a problem as an existing customer to open a Cynergy Banks latest easy access account via the fast track route -
Cynergy Bank automatically increasing the rate on Issue 53 is even better
