Agreed. But if I choose to do a quick edit, it would be misleading/unfair to leave accounts paying less on the list and not include the latest higher rates.Section62 said:
Probably teaches me to apply the cut more frequently - they're deffo off the next iteration at the w.e. if not before.1 -
Seems the old accounts were backing up and we'd reached the limit of accounts allowed to be held. Got through on the phone and they closed them all - including the one opened on Saturday! - so now just have the one new one at 1.38%. What a faff.SonOfPearl said:2 -
I won't bother with Tesco Bank Instant Saver again until they become competitive against the other saving accounts I hold, i.e. 1.50% minimum0

I've discovered Yorkshire Building Society has just launched a new savings account called the Family Savings Account. It's showing up on the moneyfacts website but it's not showing up on their website yet but I have just spoken to someone from my local branch who has confirmed it is available to anyone over the age of 18.
A brief summary:
-Can be opened in branch or by post only
-Can be managed online, by post or in branch
-Allows 3 withdrawal days/year including account closure
-Instant access
-Interest paid monthly and is variable
-You do not need to be an existing YBS member to open this account
Providing the account balance is £1 or more interest paid is tiered:
-The first £9999.99 pays 1.5%
-The portion between £10k and £19999.99 pays 1.4%
-The portion between £20k and £29999.99 pays 1.3%
-The portion above £30k pays 1%0 -

To answer the other question the expected profit rate has always been paid.1 -
Conflicting info on their website. Says £5k in one place, £2.5k in another, on the same page. https://www.alrayanbank.co.uk/savings/everyday-saver-issue-3KTF said:

It‘s not clear what happens if your balance drops below £5k. Their example calculation seems to imply a lower rate. Though it could all be the result of a hastily thrown together web page…..
Although I like Al Rayan, I might stick with Virgin Money for the time being0 -
Agree confusing on the website. Also the example given with end of 12 month value is incorrect as not 1.6%. Need to sort the website out as VERY misleading.Daliah said:

1.60% (Expected Profit Rate) - Easy Access... and the Instant Access Savings PDF on that page says £500... one of them must be right lol.their estimated example seems to imply a rate of 1.5%... it's probably just a bad copy & paste.1
