Not all banks or building societies can be checked by the new checking system just pay £1 and as long as you know you have input the right details confirm it. The banks scare the life out of you lately asking why you are making the payment with a list of why you are making the payment even for a £1
Plus Chase send you a notification when they receive your deposits if you have notifications switched on."Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"1 -
On an iPhone, all you have to do to log out is swipe up to close the app. Much easier than clicking on a Logout button which you first have to locate. I presume similar is true for Android devices.The_Blacklist said:May I warn people that the Chase app does not have log out option. The app will close if there is no activity for couple of minutes.
Also, even if you leave/close the app and open within a minute app is still open with your account dashboard.
Additionally, I tried to deposit my usual "check authenticity of the bank details" with £10.00, my bank (First Direct) did not confirm the receiving bank (Chase) bank details.
I have reported both issues to the Chase bank through the message us.
I have been told to use another bank to deposit my money.
I will now have to open a new account if I want to deposit any money in Chase UK.
The Confirmation Of Payee (COP) function won't work from ANY bank because Chase, like numerous other financial institutions, is not a participant of COP. Whilst COP is considered useful by many consumers, we have lived without COP for a couple of decades and it is easy enough to do your own "COP" by sending just a pound or two to a new payee as a test payment, to confirm that you have not mistyped the sort code and account number before you transfer larger amounts. ALL banks who participate in COP will allow you to ignore their COP check. There is no need to open another bank account to make deposits into Chase.3 -
Eventually Windows 11 will have the option of running Android apps on a desktop PC though the exact workings of that remain to be confirmed. But there is no compelling reason for most Win 10 users to upgrade yet as Win 10 will be supported til at least October 2025.littlemoney said:
Shame. I was going to apply but I only have a tablet with version 6 (too old) and my phone doesn't have space for another app. Digital discrimination. You need to be rich enough to have an up to date tablet or a phone with a large memory. They don't want people who can't afford the latest technology.Daliah said:

I'm interested in getting up to date information on best interest rates for savings accounts and there are a number of websites giving details including MSE, Moneyfacts and others. One of the problems I find with these sites is that they only list savings accounts available to new customers of the financial institutions. However, as I have existing accounts with many different savings institutions, they may offer me products some of which have better interest rates than are available to new customers. My question is:Are there any websites which also publish best interest rates available to existing customers? Interest rates are changing so frequently these days that I need to search for updates almost daily. Because of the number of accounts I have with different savings institutions I don't want to have to plod through almost daily each and every website of all my savings providers I have to seek out today's best rates vailable to me. If there is a comparison site that lists the best interest rates available to both new and existing customers it would save me a lot of time.Reginald Molehusband0

I think that most accounts included in the comparison sites are available to all customers, new and existing. Some accounts are only available to existing customers as loyalty accounts (or some other name). I have never found an account I cannot open just because I am an existing customer0

I think the problem is if a so-called "loyalty" account has higher interest rate than is available to new customers. So a comparison site might give the impression you should move all your money to institution "x", when in fact, institution "y" offers a better rate, but only if you are an existing customer of institution "y"Malchester said:I think that most accounts included in the comparison sites are available to all customers, new and existing. Yes it's a shame that so many new savings institutions only seem to offer access to customer accounts via apps on mobile devices which require users to key in data via microscopic keyboards. While I am happy to use a mobile app for viewing information about my account, I am unhappy about the lack of a proper keyboard for entering sensitive information such as account numbers, passwords etc. Until someone solves the need for a microscope while keying in on mobile phone. I will not open a bank/savings account unless it also offer access via PC/laptop.littlemoney said:

I had similar reservations, however I did open an Atom account and am pretty impressed by it. I’ve also installed the app on my iPad as a backup. 3 methods to login (PIN, Face ID and Voice). I do refuse to open a Cynergy account however as I’ve heard bad things about the associated security app.Molehusband said:

Not true when I tested it. Pressing the back button while on the app's main page closes the app and logs you out.The_Blacklist said:May I warn people that...even if you leave/close the app and open within a minute app is still open with your account dashboard.

Agreed. If I close the Chase app by swiping it away, I have to log back in, even when reopening it immediately.0
