If it's withdrawal penalties you are worried about, there are several other 2% ones, and at least one 2.5% one, which allow penalty-free withdrawals.HarryDavies01 said:
Yes but all of the others have a penalty to withdraw, those two don’t!colsten said:

I presume Saga not Sage.twitterers said:So I have around 12k I want to put into a savings account and I think the drip method is the best so:
1. I opened a sage saving account yesterday with easy access and put 10k into there from my halifax current account
2. I now need to open a regular savings account which I can then drip feed money into however it has to be a UK current account linked to the sage account
Any ideas on what to do?
Point 2 is not consistent english in that a regular savings account can't be a linked current account but I get the drift.
IMO to maximise interest you should.
First open as many regular savers as you can with multiple banks that pay good interest bearing in mind the amount you have available. Then set up DDs in your Halifax current account to pay the maximum allowed into each of the regular savers each month.
As you can't set up a DD within a savings account you will need to move money manually from the Saga account once a month into the Halifax to cover the money they will be paying on the DDs. It will be most important that you don't forget this once a month manual transfer or you will go overdrawn and loose more than the interest you will earn. This is a risk but nothing is risk free.
That about covers what I think you are asking. It's a lot of work initially and will probably have to be repeated in a years time which is another date you will need to monitor.0 -
