Bung it into Premium Bonds and hope you'll win something before you need the money in 10 months time.

As to "next best savings acct" and/or "best Reg Savers" - have a look round on main site and forums, there's plenty of suggestions.

    Thanks Archi bald:money:

    we have £25000 to save/invest
already have the santander current 123 accounts and cash isas to max. for 2013
any help would be much appreciated
    thank you

    Hello All,
I thought I had seen the answer to this somewhere, I just can't seem to find it out now, when it's my last option!

Does the Santander current 123 account which requires £500 a month payment - does this have to be my salary?
Can it not be a regular transfer in from one of my existing accounts?

I will have £3,600 + interest (another account maturing) in a couple of months and I have some other small savings that are currently getting a pitiful Gross 0.25% p.a./Net 0.20% p.a.
So I am looking to use the Santander current 123 & transfer all the cashback worthy bills to it and thus fund the Santander current 123 account from one of my existing accounts and add savings to it to get the maximum interest too.

All because the rates are currently abysmal!

Yes, it can be transferred from any account. Not sure if it has be non-Santander though.

I've also answered your other thread

Monthly £500 (Santander account monthiversary - love that word:p - not calendar month) does not have to be your salary. It can come from any non Santander account, and doesn't have to stay in there if you don't want it to ;)

You are amazing badger!!! Thank you!

Ok, sorry just one more question about this account - Is the minimum £1000 balance just to get the 3% interest? :S

I have looked at their website but all the rules appear to be split across 3 different documents!:(

Why thank you kind lady :p

The £1k balance is just for interest - BUT on £1k balance you'll only get 1%. To qualify for 3% interest you need a balance of £3k - £20k.

Your are most welcome, kind sir! ;-)
Ah, yes - that's OK I have £3,600+ will be going in early Oct, so no worries there! There doesn't appear to be anywhere better for it!:(

Thanks a lot - I have now applied online for the Santander current 123 account => "We will process your application usually within 3 business days and send you a letter or email."
That should be by the end of this week (I hope!) :T

    Thanks for all your help!

    Oi!

I'm a laydeee too, though it obviously doesn't come across from my posts :rotfl:

Good luck with the 123 application.

I take it you know about the Nationwide FlexDirect, LTSB & BoS Vantage accounts? If not, have a rummage round the forum :)

:o I do beg your pardon lady! evidently not, sorry! :wall:

Nationwide put me off - 1) 2500 limit 2) only for a year 3) minimum £1000 monthly deposit (I already have this requirement on my 1st direct current account which I opened almost a year ago +8% reg saver acc, happy with both - apart from not being able to get another 8% saver when this 1 matures!!)
Didn't know about other 2....rummages on forums
