Secure Trust Bank Access Account (Issue 9) - 5.10% (£1 - £250,000) is now NLA and replaced by...
Secure Trust Bank Access Account (Issue 10) - 5.00% (£1 - £250,000) - so drops out of your top 10.

the t&c I posted previously about Issue 9 also apply to Issue 10... the rate on my existing Issue 9 has not changed and ST would give 14 days notice if they intended to lower it.

for anyone who opened the account on Friday (certainly late afternoon / evening), it might be worth checking that you opened Issue 9 at the 5.10% rate.

The Secure Trust App is new as well I think. They never had one a few months ago when their account was briefly year the top of the list.
I got an email from them about it's launch last month - weird thing about the app is that it doesn't show previous Issues of the Access Account as closed - you literally can't tell any difference between a closed and open account... but when logging into the site, closed accounts show as red.

    Cynergy Bank Online Easy Access Account (Issue 69) - 5.10% (including 1.10% bonus) - £1 to £1,000,000
    I assume Issue 68 @ 5.15% is NLA.

i'll also mention in passing that there is a Paragon Bank Double Access Savings Account - Issue 5 paying 5.05%, but it currently wouldn't make the top 10.
If we have existing Cynergy 68 at 5.15% is this rate staying the same for now?

yes I just checked mine and it is still at 5.15% - it's worth noting, for future reference, that Cynergy will give you 14 days notice before any interest rate drop (assuming you have £100+ in the account).
If we change the interest rate to your advantage we may make the change immediately and will notify you within 30 days of it taking effect.

Where we make a change to the interest rate that is not to your advantage, and you hold a balance of £100 or more, we will notify you 14 days before the change takes effect.

Just had an e-mail off Santander, I knew my 7% EA was finishing in 2 months time anyway, but they've given me the new rates.

Strangely (I think) it says the current rate is 6.78%
    Obviously the monthly interest rate.
For some reason I thought the difference was less.

New rate will be 4.41% apparently.
Which is when I empty the thing.

Anyone else deposited funds with Metro Bank(to meet £500 minimum balance to meet limited edition rate eligibility criteria on easy access account)  over the weekend only to find that their interest rate is still stuck at 1.64% and not raised to 5.23%?
T&Cs clearly state that closing balance on Sunday will form eligibility of rate from Monday.

From memory the rate shown was updated on the Tuesday following an initial fund over a weekend.

And it will show as 5.10 APR but that's just another "quirk" of this, er, stressed bank.

It's rate is 5.22% but 5.23% may still be available at Gatehouse.
'Monday' has quite a while left.

Agree but I was rather hoping that I could transfer funds from another account today but won't do that until I can see the correct rate (even if I had given myself a 0.01% bonus)

I will wait till tomorrow now.

  • I've done exactly that today after opening yesterday. My interest rate yesterday was "null", today 5.1%. I never saw 1.64% at all.
