It's going to be interesting to see what Investec does on Friday with their Flexi saver. They have boxed themselves in with their 90 day notice account at 5%.

Does Shawbrook update rates on their previous easy access issues or do you need to open and close on new rate changes like Cynergy?

shawbrook update rates consistently and message you to tell you that it has been applied automatically.
Until they don't. Then you send a secure message and they upgrade the account to the new issue.
I opened the EA 4 months ago, once I’ve had to change the issue every other rise has been automatic.

Charter failing to increase to 4.8% as implied in original communication.
    <snipped>

There are only two possibilities with this Charter business, as far as I can see:
    (a) The 'Good News' email was incorrect.
    (b) The 'Good News' email was correct.
They must know which of these is the case, but seem unable to tell us, which is appallingly arrogant.
If (a) then it seems extraordinary that no correction email has been sent out at the earliest opportunity to those account holders affected. It seems unlikely that every single holder of an Issue 42 account has logged in, noticed the discrepancy and raised it with Charter, and any that haven't would surely be entitled to believe that they are earning at 4.8% AER.
If (b) then Charter are currently making underpayments of interest to external accounts, which doesn't look any different to a default really. I'm in that position following my latest monthly interest receipt, and an wondering whether, if I closed the account now, I would, at least in principle, be entitled to make a claim for the shortfall under the FSCS.

Coventry Four Access Savers (Online) - are withdrawals in the morning of a working day credited the same day at the nominated account - or next day?
    TIA
  • Well well, logging on to Charter this morning I note my Issue 42 EA account has, unannounced, been increased to 4.8%. No idea if this is being backdated to the 18th August as originally advised.

Intriguing they've done this now after taking so long over what was pretty much a cut and dried issue - maybe they've (deservedly) received a lot of flak and seen a substantial removal of funds.

Most of my money is out and won't be going back.

Always next working day in my experience. You can go through the motions of a withdrawal without actually committing to it and the process will inform you of the date you would receive your funds.

Still waiting for Cahoot login letters to arrive (1 arrived before the bank holiday but I need 2 letters to enable a log on). In the meantime I've opened and funded Shawbrook and Beehive..

Mine arrived on consecutive days (calendar days 14 and 15 after applying); I had pretty much given up,
