Has anyone who already has a Santander 123 Lite been able to open an Edge Saver Current account to get the Saver without having to give up the 123 Lite current account? I find the cash back is better for me with the 123 Lite account but would like the Edge Saver.
Depends what you mean by "instant". The application form doesn't take too long to fill in (5 to 10 mins), and at the end the system took about 30 - 60 seconds to make the final decision, with the account appearing instantly in my online banking afterwards. (I've opened three Edge current accounts in the last few days - an individual each for myself and wife and one joint).

I find it quite laughable that posters here get into arguments about motives for banks operating in particular ways, what their statements really mean and reputing to know why they do operate that way.
The hard facts are that all these postings are simply guesswork and don't have an iota of factual information between them, yet they so vociferously believe what they are stating is fact without ANY evidence to back it up.7 -

Emails from Ford Money confirming the FlexibleSaver rate is 4.75% (gross, annual) effective today.6

Email from Natwest about interest rate changes. Nothing spectacular or of real importance, some rates are more of an insult, but might be of interest to someone.

Email from Santander - We're increasing the interest rate on your Easy Access Saver Limited Edition (Issue 1) to 4.05% AER/ 3.98% gross (variable).
in next five days1 -
Theyve gradually increased the over 5k rate on the Natwest Digital Saver a few times, creeping up from 1% to 1.7%.
They might as well not bother increasing at all because most of their rates are beyond poor and not going to keep customers.1
