Is there a limit on the amount you can pay into Tandem on the app via open banking? Trying to pay in 10k but it just doesn't work (Halifax app linked - keeps asking me to select the account, even though I have).

I have a limit of 10k per transaction from Nationwide, but that is a Nationwide limit for open banking, so Tandem do allow at least 10k payments in and out.
Nationwide certainly used to have a £10k per transaction limit for online payments, but this appears to have changed recently...

    From https://www.nationwide.co.uk/help/payments/transfer-limits-and-timescales/#sending-money-to-another-person-or-provider-using-your-current-account

    Our online limits

If you set up a payment online through our Internet Bank or Banking app (including with Open Banking), you can generally make payments of up to £100,000 per transaction, up to a £100,000 overall daily limit. However, there are times when we limit online payments to £25,000 per day.

You can only send up to £25,000 online per day if you:

    • make a payment to an existing payee who you haven't paid many times before
    • make a payment to someone you haven't paid before
    • set up a standing order using our Internet Bank or Banking app.

You can check how much you can send to a payee in our Internet Bank or Banking app when setting up a payment.

    @worriednoob - about 10 to 20 minutes.
    Oh is that it?  :D:

I thought Kevin meant longer, haha.  That's not too bad.  I assume they might be doing extra checks to ensure the transaction is legit.
Yes, that's what I meant by a little longer, certainly no longer than an hour. If it had been a lot longer I would have set a lot longer :)

I just paid in £74,000 from Nationwide to Tandem in one transaction via Open Banking.  I think the Nationwide limit for Open Banking is £100,000

I have had the Santander Edge Saver since it was launched in Dec 2022, the bonus period will presumably run out in Dec 2023. Do you think there is anything to prevent closing the Edge Saver now and opening a new one to benefit from a possible full year of the bonus? (I have the Edge current account). If leave things until December, highly possible that the Edge Saver may not be available for new openings.

I have a joint 123 lite account with my wife,.is there anything stopping me having an Edge account and the saver account in my sole name.
Nothing stopping you, but if you open a joint account you can both have an Edge Saver in your individual names. So that's up to £8k at 7%.

If you and your spouse both have a single edge account and also a joint edge account, does that mean that you could both have 2 edge saver accounts, giving uou the opportunity of saving up to £16k @ 7%

I think so, this is what it says:

    • You can have one Santander Edge saver for each Santander Edge current account you have. That means a maximum of 2 if you have both a single and a joint Santander Edge current account.
    • The Santander Edge saver can only be held in a single name. If you have a joint Santander Edge current account, you can each have a Santander Edge saver in your own name.

How are people doing the transfers from one account to another relatively quickly? I can transfer 85k from a savings account to my linked current account in one hit but then it takes me 4 days to get it into the new account as I'm restricted to 25k per day. I've asked if that can be increased and have been told to do it in branch which is massively inconvenient. I know I can do the outgoing transfers over 4 days too but it's quite a faff.
