For the record @soulsaver I think Saffron BS' Enviro Saver (Issue 2) @ 4.55% currently beats Sainsburys Bank at #10 though I suspect it won't matter for much longer anyway. Also Yorkshire BS' Rainy Day Saver can probably safely be removed from the smaller balances section.I no longer check the forums as regularly as I used to. If you wish to catch my attention please remember to tag me (@ircE) so I get a notification.0

We have seen they can offer 4.51% AER with the bank rate at 5% so you can see roughly how much margin they seem to need to operate. The bank rate is almost certainly going up on Thursday so I would imagine Chip will respond on Thursday or Friday when they can raise it as high as 4.76% (or 5.01% if BoE raises by 0.5%) and keep the same margin rather than do it early and potentially lose money (even for a few days).
Most other savings providers also have a lending business so the rates they can get will usually be well above the bank rate, but are less flexible.
If Chip don't respond by Friday then I'd be moving then.5 -
