Possibly. Ford is decent too but I only hold a pound in it now. I noticed Ford's time to withdraw by for same working day clearing is slightly earlier than Newcastle (1pm vs 4pm).dgpur said:S_uk said:
I'm glad I opened the Newcastle account now as there were none of these catches (I know some have had to provide ID but I didn't). I'm glad I can also do same working day withdrawals as it wasn't clear at first whether you could, which for me is a big advantage over shawbrook.dgpur said:Every time I see something new with a higher rate on here it turns out to have a catch - £500 minimum transaction, £1000 minimum in the account, needs ID documents, limits how many times you can take money out in a yearYes, it does seem to have been a good prospect. Sadly I was too ill to take advantage before it closed. Maybe they’ll be back with an even better offer?1 -
Finally got my authentication code today and made a small withdrawal at 1-30 pm, checked later and it had arrived into nominated account.S_uk said:

Cut off time for same working day,I believe is 4 pm.
The other point about receiving emails to say your payment has been received, I`ve never had one and have made four deposits since opening.1 -
Maybe it was via transfer and im mistaken. I must have used the wrong reference?cadguy77 said:
I never saw an option to pay in via debit card into NBS, nor do I nowoz0707 said:Sorry for another NBS post. Put £1 in via debit card when opened account a week or so ago and still not showing on the NBS log in. Do we think something has gone wrong or do I just need patience? I know the card payments sometimes take a bit longer0 -

Yes...£439 interest in one month, Santander. Now thinking of two different 6.10% fixed rate (1 year) 85k accounts.patpalloon said:Question for all -
Would you leave more than 85k in any one institution?

I've just re done the payment to NBS with account number. I think problem seems to be that account wasn't open when I did initial transfer and I used reference give on application. Wonder if that pound will come back or lost in the ether?!0

But I’d be happier if a quick access all-hours bank would offer something. Feels like Tandem are playing slow motion catch up and Zopa have left the game. Atom hardly seem to care anymore.0 -
When I first opened my account I used the reference number that they told me to use for an initial deposit in a email. I made a small deposit using it from my current bank account and waited a day for it to appear in the Newcastle account. It didn't but on checking my bank I discovered the deposit had been returned. Meanwhile I had received another email with my account reference number so I again made a small deposit using that and it was in my account in a few hours.oz0707 said:I've just re done the payment to NBS with account number.
