Indeed, but it has taken them a while to get competitive again, I had £1 languishing in there quite a while waiting.

I've had a quid or two in there for ages but never properly funded as always had better options think now is the time to empty OBS though

Just gone to empty OBS and see the rate has improved from 3.25 to 3.5% Not sure its worth the aggro for 50 pence a week.

Do you know how long it takes for withdrawals to reach nominated account, and payments into this account take, please?  I can't find in the summary of the account and I've tried to find out via online chat, and lost the will to live, they couldn't understand my question and just kept saying the funds go into a nominated account 🙄

In my experience 10 minutes or less for payments and withdrawals. Same for withdrawals at the weekend, I haven't tried a weekend payment

I made a payment into it today at 11:45 and received a confirmation SMS at 11:51

Currently 3.5% is a low rate. It increased to 3.5% on 20th April and even then it wasn't competitive. HSBS OBS was good for the first few months and then fell behind.

As someone said recently, receipts in to Ford Money are very quick now. My HSBC OBS funds whizzed into Ford earlier this morning (via three current accounts!).

Spoke too soon. Did a subsequent payment this morning and it's still not landed! 

Could be held up in Santander of course.

They use Faster Payments in and out. You also get a text confirmation when funds received by them and paid out too. Usually 5 minute or so delay at most.

Its 10k though, Whats the difference between this and the highest paying ea .3%?

If it’s already emptied, to which account did you move the money? The best unlimited instant access rate is currently 3.82% AER, equivalent to an average increase of £4.83 a month in interest on £10K.

Certainly don’t move the money back into the HSBC OBS for only 3.5%, essentially considering its withdrawal caveats.

No I haven't emptied it. I went to but on seeing that it's now 3.5% i'm not bothering. I have the Ford money account open with a couple of quid in but I will stick with obs for this 10k
