I opened an EA account with Secure Trust Bank on the morning of the 30th March - at the end of the process, there was a message along the lines of (IIRC) 'application complete, some checks to run, we'll be in touch within 5 working days' - to date, no contact of any kind from then, not even a 'welcome' email... are they always this slow? Or does it sound like something has gone wrong?
Received a letter from SCT - not a welcome letter, but a request for proof of ownership of nominated account!?

Do I just let the application lapse, or should I request cancellation of application - I'm certainly not going to bother with the faff of sending documents...

Can't seem to see an email address on their site? Do I have to phone them?!

The only one I can see for them is complaints@securetrustbank.co.uk

How do I see my pay-in details for Chip? Can’t I just make a normal bank transfer? It only allows me to pay in via open banking but Barclays keeps giving me a message that I’m over my daily limit and I’m not sure how much that is, seemingly £10k?
I'm with Barclays and you can do up to £50k with online banking, but only £10k via the app. So if you need to move more money in future log in the "old way."
How please? I thought Chip was app-only?
presumably this is to do with paying in to chip account as opposed to transferring out of chip.
You can’t initiate a payment from Barclays to CHIP. It must be initiated from CHIP.

Unfortunately, Barclays have silly daily limits on OB bank transfers. No such restrictions at most other banks.

    Shawbrook site down

    Its loading OK for me
    Can`t log in.
I can't log in to Shawbrook online banking either. I've messaged them on Twitter (as this is how I got an issue resolved quickly last time) but as it's a bank holiday, I'm not expecting an immediate reply !

Fortunately for me it's nothing too urgent - I'll report back if I hear anything.

I did get as far as entering the code they sent by text a few minutes ago but it just kept buffering and eventually timed out.

I was talking about Barclays in general, but yes for Chip it seems my point was totally irrelevant  :hushed:

    Okay. Thanks.

It's been a while since I used chip. I may start using again. The account is still open AFAK.

Btw, once payment-in is initiated at Chip, how long to reach Chip and is there any time period when the funds don't earn interest because it's left Barclays (or whichever bank or Fintech) and hasn't reached chip yet?

If you disable the Open by default setting for the banking app (Barclays in this case) in App info setting, the Chip app will (or should) launch the website in a browser instead.

This is useful for other things, like cashback tracking that requires in browser, rather than in app purchases.

This is for Android, not sure if the equivalent exists for Apple
