It does allow them - be aware though, Skipton have sent letters to some frequent debit card depositors basically asking them to stop

Edit: very very very frequent debit card depositors - thanks @alternate

True but the only people I have seen who got a letter were taking the micky with 30+ transactions a month.

You can get around the limitation of only two nominated accounts by having more than one savings account with them.  Two savings accounts would allow you to schedule payments to 4 different external accounts.  You can also schedule future transfers between different Skipton accounts.

When you schedule a future payment, you need to have sufficient cleared funds in your account to cover that payment when you schedule it.
    Thanks Nick

When you say "Skipton also allow multiple scheduled payments, but you are limited to two nominated accounts."

I am only interested in it going to 1 account and from 1 account. Did you mean that I could set up a string of, say, 4 future payments to that account, or did you mean that I could set up 1 future payment to 1 of my nominated accounts, and 1 to the other?

I can't test it out for myself yet because I'm waiting for funds to clear!
You can set up a string of future dated payments to one (or two) account(s) (from each savings account you have).

One Skipton account feeding a single external account should be fine (although I have only tested two future payments).
Thanks for the suggestion of the Skipton, Nick. It's better than you promised, for my situation at least.

When I go to make a withdrawal, there is a tick box saying "make this a regular payment" and I can set it to feed my current account which can then service all its regular savers monthly.

Problem solved from a high interest savings account!
  • CHIP FSCS number 911255

this comes up as in protected

chip say their Instant savings and prize savings account are covered , yet their reference number using the FSCS website clearly indicates not protected .

anyone checked this by other means ?

It's not an FSCS number, it's their Firm Reference Number.
Chip is a trading name of Chip Financial Limited. Chip is authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority under the Payment Service Regulations 2017, firm reference number no. 911255, for the provision of payment services
Only eligible deposits held in the Chip Prize Savings Account and the Chip Instant Access Account (both powered by ClearBank), and our Interest Accounts are covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS)

    ClearBank Limited (FRN:754568) is protected.

Any news on Marcus - they are slow off the mark
Marcus didn't come up with any good offers for two years now.   I've emptied my account on 02/03/21.

Hi.  I am a guy for simple things in life!  The majority of my money is in Santander E-Saver account.  I know it is only paying 2.75%.   Everytime I think of moving it somewhere with a higher rate, as advised by posts here, then another one comes along and trumps it.  Then you get others where there are conditions to fulfill - turn around, jump in the area, count to ten etc.etc. !!!!   With Santander I can put money in from my Current Account (First Direct) and vice versa.  No problems, it all happens within minutes.   I don't have to count how many times I have withdrawn money this week / month /year.   I don't have to check what time of day it is to do a transaction.   I am all for a simple things ... much like myself !!

So bearing all that in mind, what is the recommendation for someone to look after my money?

    Thanks.
Thank you for reading this message.

The CHIP instant access saver works with your Santander current account in much the same way as the Santander e-saver - instant deposits, instant withdrawals, unlimited number of transactions. It just pays 0.65% more interest. It's app only, so if you don't like that. then CHIP is not for you.

It's important to understand that Chip is not a bank.  Chip's savings accounts are protected via Clearbank.
