Nsl popla

Hi, I recieved a parking charge notice on december 11 from nsl. I read the newbies page and appealed using the template provided within the timeframe. After that I waited for a letter to come through the post but I didn't receive anything to my knowledge. Only today I wake up to find a letter from nsl which is the rejection of my appeal but it was dated 16th January. which now means that i missed the deadline to appeal through POPLA by 6 days. I don't know what to do. Any help will be appreciated, thanks.

Is the envelope franked with a date? Dig it out the bin & check.

Complain to the BPA, like post #5 of the NEWBIES thread tells you.

Just checked the envelope, the date is 17th January, got nothing to complain about, I must have missed the letter come through the post about a month ago. smh. Do I have any room for appeal anymore or should i just count my losses and pay them off as I've missed the deadline for POPLA?

If you have a solid defence, you can just ignore the POPLA stage and wait for LBC and then court papers.

I did park in a private car park only for residents and I knew that I was liable to receive a ticket but I didn't think i would miss the letter coming through the post. I don't really know how strong my defence is. I know the signage in the place is poor and even the photograph which the scammers provided of the signage in the appeal rejection letter was just pitch black because it was dark. I can't upload the pictures because I'm a new user but is that a winnable defence?

signage issues are always a strong point for any defence as the signage forms the contract (or doesnt, as the case may be)

I know, I know but it all seems like a lost cause because of my carelessness with missing the letter for a month.

But not doing POPLA is unimportant. What do you think we all did before POPLA?!

So, I also went to pepipoo asking for help aswell, and they advised me that I actually haven't received a NTK, all I received was an internal appeal rejection letter. And although I missed the POPLA date, they said that it's now about collecting as much information as possible before a court hearing.

Not sure NSL will do court, so don't hold your breath!

If there was no NTK posted, then you can't be held liable unless you tell them who was driving, so don't do that, of course.

The only reason to contact NSL now (except if you get a LBC or court claim) is if you move house within 6 years, as you must keep your address up to date to make sure you don't run the risk of not seeing a sneaky court claim years later.
