  • Hi. Read your entry, and the worst is over.
Myself and my husband declared ourselves bankrupt last year. Im a nurse he a firefighter, he injured his back resulting in him havi9ng 14months sick, and 6 months no income, left us high and dry, in 2005, we never thought it would happen to us, but it did.
We got into terrible debt and ended up losing our home, but we are slowly coming out the other side.

I completely empathise with you, its a very daunting & frightening experience, but its ok, I promise.

We lost what we thought were 'good' friends but a bit like the debt who needs them if they cant be with you when the going gets tough.
Try not to be bitter, or judge yourself too harshly and let what people say wash over you, its only an opinion , not, fact. We are having an economical Xmas, and have been brave enough to tell our children, the situation and also our better friends, I have also told family and loved ones this year it will be socks as gifts.
Hopefully we will get discharged from our BR, next month.
So put it down to experience and lookiforward. Good luck. ;)

    Well done Hanspan and Meech,
The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter :(

Am excited that the BR is out of the way but now really looking forward to getting the or interview done and dusted and then getting the year over and done with!! Am looking forward to living a proper life now rather than spending the whole time looking behind my back and worrying about the mistakes i hae made in the past!

Thanks for all your comments guys and am sure i will be back on here when i get into a panick about the OR!!

    me too.
First monday morning at work now, and i still feel very happy. Was worried a little bit about the amount of cash i spent over the weekend, and really should have budgeted better. but i will be careful now. my brother's birthday is this next weekend, and so i must be very, very cautious. OR calling this week, or at least writing to me, so fingers crosssed!! Meech, that is strange abour the times mine was 12.01pm, which i thought was very poignant. somethong to look back on! x
