The way i look at it is that we have all faced and have dealt or are dealing with our problems whereas many out there are still burying their head in the sand (as we have done for years) and i only ever read the bankruptcy listings when i was at my wits end and was contemplating suggesting OH goes B/C.
I'm sure those that read the B/C listings fall into 2 categories apart from creditors reading it of course -

    1. They haven't got anything better to do and really should get a life!!!
    2. Those that perhaps are thinking that B/C is something they need to consider but haven;t plucked up courage to do anything about it.

Don't worry about it says she whose local paper comes out today and i'm not buying it just in case OH is listed in it. If i don't know if its in or not I won't worry if anyone is going to see it;)

    Onwards and upwards

Just want to add to the the above, I've just done a online search for the london gazette and My notice of br was in the paper 1 week after my br, However I've just checked all my local papers and even the welsh national paper and no mention of me:confused: I wonder when i'll appear ( not that I'm bothered, just curious ) It's now over a month since my br and nearly a month since the london gazette advert, just seems strange.

    Any thoughts?

You might never see your BR in the paper, it depends on so many things. It could be in the paper nearest the court which might not be local to you. It could depend if there is space available to put it in. You just may just miss it as it isn't really the biggest advert in the world.

thanks sooooooooooooo much everyone. your support is invaluable. if any body really knew what has happened to me over the past year, you'd really nderstand why your messages are so wonderful. As you can probabaly tell my family only really support me through a few phone calls. My sister is comnf to the courts with me, but my mum and dad can't make it. i wish they could really. What's really sad is your messages of support are probably the most i will get. This i do intend to change, and i will make new friends over the next year and chnage my life. Thank you all for the time and effort you have given me, it means more than you can imagine.

I didnt receive too much support verbally, but as long as they support you in other ways then I wouldnt worry. Once they start to learn about what bankruptcy is about and see that you're a lot happier, they will get past any doubts or preconceptions.

    All the best for tomorrow!

  • Just wanted to add my best wishes from a newly BR person. It is a great weight off your shoulders, and hopefully for all of us it is a chance to start afresh on so many levels.

As far as the paper is concerned, I am looking in my local but never see it  however I have a great putdown ready if anyone ever says anything to me .....

Considering the BR notices are nearly ALWAYS next to the "Personal Services" adverts :o:D :rotfl: I will be asking which section they were looking at first :p

yes, its quite sad anyway isn't it to plot people's downfall and look in the papers just so you can tease them. The only reason i even know they are there is because i am going to be bankrupt and so i;ve been told we are listed in there! In any case, i am going to ask for an exemption to it because of my ex and the fact that i had to go into a refuge for safety.

thanks everyone again, it's great to have these comments and messages of support.

Today is my last debt day, tomorrow i go to the court. I have happlessly named this day 'Bankruptcy Eve'. Ah makes it sound a lot nicer. Spoke to my friend and she is really behind me and is a little exictied about the whole court thing. She's a very political person, and so loves that pomp, so perhaps she will even enjoy it. Perhaps my dad will call today to wish me good luck. One thing is for sure, after tomorrow, i am not going to care what my family think of me - it's my life and i am going to do what I want!!!

Thank you everyone, and so glad to hear that your lives have improved after BK. Everyone is so lovely on here and has helped me tremendously.
