So why mention it then. Is this a willy waving competition? Mine is bigger than yours etc?
Anyhoo - the only thing I would do, if you genuinely need it, is ask for a larger car as a replacement - I would be miffed if my car went in for a recall and ended up with a much smaller car if it was more than a couple of days. ie, I drive 700 miles a week, hence why I have a decent size comfortable car - the same miles in a small hatch wouldn't be as comfortable.0 -
I have had exactly the same thing happen to me. My car has been with BMW for 5 weeks now for the same recall. You are lucky they have told you something - I have had no word from them the whole time. Phone calls made and emails sent and still nothing!! I have now been in touch with BMW complaints and they say someone will get in touch but they don’t 😳0

Is this why I'm having to wait 3 weeks for a simple 5 min warranty job at my local BMW dealer. It was rammed on Monday when I took my car down.0

I've been told by BMW to not expect my car back for a while. Anywhere between 2 and 3 weeks is most likely.
I was at a BMW dealer in Stevenage yesterday and their car park was packed out with recalled vehicles. The guy I spoke to was saying they were having problems with the supplier of the parts required, so I wouldn't expect a quick resolution.0 -

Hi all,
On Sunday I was travelling home on the motorway in my bmw 2010 3 series and my car just cut out and completely lost power.
I had to pull over and get towed home, I was made aware about the bmw recall talking to a friend who advised me to type my registration in to see if my vechile had been recalled to which it was.( I thought you would of been made aware of a recall but obviously not).
I spoke to the bmw dealership who were really good and collected my car within 2 hours and gave me a Nissan duke from enterprise.
2 days later bmw rant me back to say my engine had ceased and that they couldn’t understand why!. I have shown the mot/ service history for the past 5 years to which I’ve had no faults and no faults came on when the car just died. They have then given me a 5 series as they have had to send my car away to be investigated.
Has anybody else had this experience ? And does anybody know what will happen now as this has never happened to me before and I’m worried I’m going to be left with out a car.
Anyfeed back would help

Same happened to me had to wait 7 weeks.
I have a 5 series GT and was worried I was going to get a astra or something basic. They gave me a 2 series convertible which was not really suitable but was fun to have for a while.
Other people managed to get x1 x2 and x3s which were not to bad.0
