You're right about the subsidised phone though Blacksheep1979. I should really just let it go. Wait till i get some windfall, but it would be nice if o2 could but the account on hold till i can afford a half decent handset.
Butlers1982, you cant inquire about insurance while signing up via iTunes. iTunes is the ONLY way to activate phone when signing up.
But you could have enquired about insurance at the Apple shop, or from other sources where mobile insurance is available (you do not have to get your phone and insurance from the same place).
I would get a cheap PAYG until you can afford a better phone, then at least you are able to use the call plan that you are paying for.Gone ... or have I?0 -
I'm curious as to why you let it out your sight in the first place?!?! You say you spent ages saving up for it, and it's the first thing you've spend money on outside of travel costs for 4 months, so why be so careless and allow it to get stolen in the first place?!
I guess you'll have to put it down to experience, buy a cheap replacement phone to use during the 18 month contract, and in future when buying things worth £900 (cost of phone plus contract?), you should take out insurance, or guard it with your life!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
did you pay bu a credit card some cover purcahses for first so many days !0
-
Nah, Switch card. That was my first thought, the stupid thing is i put a apple power adapter on the credit card and the iphone on the switch for some reason.

Hmmm, things are looking up. i just got a call from o2 saying they're current iPhone contract practice is very fluid and is in the process of changing(changed there tune somewhat) and would be willing to either change the contract to a 12 month standard contract and give me a lower end handset or if i buy another iPhone give me some call credit on the account. I wonder if they're keeping an eye my threads?0

There’ll be hundreds of people who lose or break their iPhones during the eighteen month contract. O2 must have a contingency. They can’t be planning to tell them all, “Tough. You’ll remain an unhappy customer, until you can finally be free of us. And neither we nor Apple care if you never buy our products again.” You just seem to have been a bit quick off the mark in losing yours. I don’t see why you shouldn’t be allowed a replacement iPhone, at cost price. It’s not like they’re running out of them.古池や蛙飛込む水の音0 -
There are also loads of customers who lose or break normal phones and have to keep the contract ;-)
Anyway, the good news for the OP is that he can move to a 12 or 18 month standard tariff almost like an 'upgrade' with a new handset and no penalty. Just like starting again but £269 lighter.:staradmin:staradmin:staradmin:staradmin:staradmin0
