All I can say is LOL
Seriously if you saved up just for an Iphone your a mug
Its your own fault you didnt take insurance out
Apple and O2 are simply sticking to the contract and they would cancel if you could return the phone
Whose to say you havent just unlocked it and sold it on without a contract for a fortune?
Or at least thats their stance
I have sympathy but its not O2 or apple in the wrong0 -
Who in there right mind would sign a 18month contract and then unlock the phone selling it for profit when i could have just unlocked it without taking the contract? That simply doesn't make sence. Believe you me, i thought about just grabbing a iphone from Apple, unlocking it for my current Orange contract, but i thought i would do the right thing and stay legal.
I'm aware that Apple arnt in the wrong, even o2 are standing by the contract, understandably i'm a brand new customer and have no history with them. Its Kinda funny i guess but im seriously out of pocket on this one.
And, Iamthesmartestmanalive, why exactly would buying something rather usefull to my lifestyle make me a mug ?0 -

why do you troll threads trying to insult people..
yesterday you call a 13 year old a peadophile,
and now you call the OP a mug
may i REMIND YOU that you should be nice to all moneysavers.0 -
caus you've fallen for the hype - its a pretty poor phone, average media player and doesn't really do anything that several other devices do.
The reason you can't return it is, that even though you bought the device before you signed the contract it is still subsidised by O2 - thats why in France where they are selling unlocked ones the price is noticably higher.0 -
Came into this thread as I wondered what the 'major' oversight was... and found nothing.. Sorry but you lost the phone, why should o2 just cancel a contract?? There's no oversight on o2 or Apples part, the oversight is on YOUR part unfortunately.. maybe your title should be renamed?:staradmin:staradmin:staradmin:staradmin:staradmin0

I've ALWAYS had phone insurance, and would have got it if i offered.
and i would have picked saturdays winning lottery numbers if someone had told me the numbers before the draw!
if you ALWAYS had it why didnt you inquire about it at the time0 -
Ironically, there is a thread on the Mobiles board complaining that CPW are insisting that buyers take out insurance!Gone ... or have I?0

Can you buy another iPhone and then return it and cancel the O2 contract.
That'll cost you the price of another iPhone - how much refund would you get from O2.0 -
Surly this isn't really the place to discus the technical merits of a phone or anything else to that matter but in my opinion, its a pretty amazing device from the small amount of time i spent with it (im not some mac nut btw).
You're right about the subsidised phone though Blacksheep1979. I should really just let it go. Wait till i get some windfall, but it would be nice if o2 could but the account on hold till i can afford a half decent handset.
Butlers1982, you cant inquire about insurance while signing up via iTunes. iTunes is the ONLY way to activate phone when signing up.0 -
