Santander Refer a Friend

Re Your post on the other board, there isnt any genuine confusion on this board, some have been talking/thinking/speculating outloud and even in one instance reminiscing about his own personal Santander multiple account opening success or lack of it in years gone by, none of that has any relevance to Santander current refer a friend.
Santander T+C is very clear, as Y.B said if it doesnt say you cant do something that means that you can.

Note if you are planning on applying & switching on line, you need your sacrificial account debit card, or it won't let you complete the switch element.. and you'll need to phone Sant's switch team anyway.
I had an old donor ac to switch but had shredded the card so have to phone... or order a new card.
Just clarifying - was this because of the lack of debit card details or is there another reason to phone having completed the online application? Ta.:grouphug:Official MSE canny forumite and HUKD VIP badge member

Agree that the terms don't prohibit muliple switches into Santander (indeed, I'd assume Santander would welcome all the switchers they can get). However, from experience, I'd prefer to wait and see how Santander handle this before I potentially waste my time and someone's code, regardless of what the t&c's state.
I don't really fancy a 40mins phone argument with a Santander customer rep who has made it their mission to prevent me getting another voucher after they query why I'm switching for the 6th time in the past few weeks.
If Santander have no issue, then great! {Text removed by MSE Forum Team}0 -

Y just lack of debit card; you can still open the new account but won't let you switch in as part of the opening process - so branch or phone for switch.0 -

Just completed an application (switching an account that I do have debit card for) and can confirm no phone call necessary. Account opened instantly and already visible in my online Santander banking (where I have a a joint account - opened a new one as I want a single account for this switch offer). That's me as an existing customer of course, might be different if new to Santander.0 -
Someone who phoned up to switch and had no debit card from account to be sacrificed, what procedure did switching team follow please, reason I ask is BOS accounts for some reason only 1 out of 3 accounts have debit card available to me and when I previously phoned BOS answer I got was can only see same as me even though when accounts were opened years ago debit card for each account was issued.0

Surely they can't insist on a debit card number when no card exists?0 -
Please follow the Board convention and don't punt for referrals outside the Referrer's Board.
:rotfl: Irony is that both Post 6 by you took no notice of this supposed Forum rule https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/site/forum-faqs/?_ga=2.124330831.492353466.1550752381-798562826.1550752381 - your post linking to referral board wasn't removed despite me reporting it days ago. :rotfl:

I think the issue only occurs if a debit card has been issued and you fail to include the number. That switch from a Tesco to a Halifax account failed for me due to that reason last year (Tesco refused the switch).0
