Looking for better and cheaper energy supplier

You need to get your E.on's accounts in order before you can switch - whilst this debt is outstanding they will block any switch.
Could you answer my post please ?
"What happened when you started your tenancy ? Did you read your meters and give them to the supplier (E.on)."Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
Either this is a wind up post or he is an objectionable piece of work.

As dogshome said earlier " The rule is that when you become the occupant of a property, you must notify the current energy supplier of your move-in date and the meter readings"
Penny pincher - how do you think that Eon gets to know who is responsible for the energy supplied to your flat ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -

It would appear from OPs first post that soemone did the first, (landlord?)He came round took a reading from the meters and checked it off from the meter reading written on my tenancy agreement, he said you dont use a lot do you!
OP should hopefully be able to use those readings with EON to get it sorted and not have to pay for the previous tenants useage.
OP have you explained to EON that you do have a meter reading from the start of your tenancy, which is documented on your tenacy agreement so ist not just your say so, but this wasn't given to them at the start of your tenancy?0 -
Is it a referral link to bulb? If so they're not helping you, they're trying to earn money by getting new customers for the supplier.penny_pinchers wrote: »and thank you for that link you supplied for a different supplier .
Very underhand to use the situation to benefit themselves.0 -
My advice to you is to get prepayment meters installed. They are not "twice as expensive " that is just something else you have got wrong. They are actually the cheapest option if you don t want to go on a yearly fixed deal with a monthly or quarterly direct debit. Check the rates on UKpower.co.uk.penny_pinchers wrote: »Thankyou so much for you kind words, and thank you for that link you supplied for a different supplier . I was hopping to get some advice on hear about how and where to switch suppliers
Prepays are both now subsidised and capped and are the best option for you.Get Eon to fit their new smart meters which can operate in either credit or prepay mode. You can budget better and now people are not paying through the nose for prepay tariffs they are to be recommended.
You dont have to switch suppliers because there is not much difference in prepay tariffs.Stay with Eon, you could do a lot worse.0 -
I think the OP needs to start by getting the previous tenants debt transferred off their account.
Luckily they have a documented reading by a third party which hopefully may help in digging themselves out of a hole of their own digging.
There shoudl be no need for prepayment meters.0 -
As I said before, I asked if you could prove itAs dogshome said earlier " The rule is that when you become the occupant of a property, you must notify the current energy supplier of your move-in date and the meter readings"
I said in my OP that eon allready knew bought readings (fence fraud)AnotherJoe wrote: »OP have you explained to EON that you do have a meter reading from the start of your tenancy, which is documented on your tenacy agreement so ist not just your say so, but this wasn't given to them at the start of your tenancy?0
