Neighbors rubbish

I have some lovely neighbours whos bins are always overflowing and their rubbish gets blown all over my property every time they put the bins out. They won't put it all in bin bags because the bin men won't take extra bags, so they pile up all the loose rubbish on top so the lid can't be closed and all the loose rubbish gets blown everywhere on a windy day. I could build a fence, but it would be expensive and shouldn't really be necessary. Can anyone suggest anything else I could do?

Offer to put any excess rubbish your bin can accommodate in to yours?

Lucky that your bin men take the bin with rubbish piled up so the lid won't close.
Bin men in our area would just leave the bin unemptied !!

Our council do bigger bins for bigger families. Or, as Spadoosh says, let them put the excess in yours. What do people put in their bins, ours could go months without being emptied?

Council are instructed not to take bins unless the lid is fully closed. Remind your neighbours of this rule

Just speak to your neighbours about the problem and they'll resolve it if they're that lovely. If you generally have space in your bin there's an easy solution.

If they're the kind of people who already overload their bins the last thing I'd do is let them use mine. Give some people an inch and they take a mile.
