I am going travelling for 10 weeks in 3 days can I appeal a PCN OR SHALL I JUST PAY

The only real question we am asking is how will they (euro car parks -BPA- goulden st, Manchester) correspond.

we leave to go travelling for 10 weeks in 3 days (18/02/19) and have just received a PCN.
we have skim read The newbie post, and we are no different, we over stayed by 14mins according to their crop photo and typed times - but estimate only 7 mins or less from ticket time. we did not buy my ticket as soon as we entered the car park as it took several minutes to park and then text a friend before we purchased a 3 hour ticket. we don't have ticket, but we paid on card.

we want to appeal as £100 or £60 if pay now is ridiculous. But we will not be here to receive letters.

appeal by email /online if we can but, if then consequently they write it is unlikely that we will be back before any 28day respond type thing.

we don’t want to be worrying about his for 10 weeks it’s a trip of a lifetime. Shall we just pay it.

Thanks

    OR SHALL I JUST PAY

Such questions are unofficially banned! COME ON!
    I wanted to ring them,
    No you didn't!

Why not get a relative to use their email address to appeal it in your name, so that the rejection letter or email comes back to them, and THEY can then come here and reply on this thread for POPLA guidance while you are away?

You could do the template appeal today (see NEWBIES thread) but give a relative's email in the form on the ECP appeals page. No saying who was driving!

ECP are not there to be paid and this is not a worry!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you so much, my own email does not contain any of my name and will be able to catch up occasionally on emails while away.. so if known how they are going to reply I will appeal. just worried about them sending a letter.

Thanks for the kick.. it was starting to stress me.. are they likely to just cancel it anyway for 14 mins and that’s not even from ticket time .?

They might send a rejection letter, so you need to tell people at home to email you a copy if it arrives that way.

Nope, but these can sometimes be won at POPLA stage by arguing about the BPA grace periods before and after paid-for time. And if not then you ignore them.

ECP are nothing to worry about and are not to be paid.

The whole industry is a scam, relying on threats of court, and the public's ignorance of the Law, A bill is currently before parliament which will regulate the scammers, many of whom are ex-clampers.

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of alleged contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors. Is has been suggested by an MP that some of these companies may have connections to organised crime.

Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, (especially Smart}, and others have already been named and shamed in the House of Commons as have Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each week), hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned. They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct

The problem has become so widespread that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers.

Sir Greg Knight's Private Members Bill to curb the excesses, and perhaps close down, some of these companies passed its Second Reading in the Lords this month, and, with a fair wind, will l become Law later this year..
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

have got the template and will be going online to appeal as per the newbie thread. It says you can add "a little something " if you are careful.

what if the driver was less than 10 minutes late back from the expiry time of the ticket.

many thanks again for any words of wisdom

    Crazy idea!!

You definitely must not say that.

It is precisely that reason that you are discouraged from adding anything to the template.

Can you not see that by doing that you are telling the parking company who the driver is?

Now edit your latest post to remove those clues to the driver's identity.

The PPCs trawl this forum just wailing for people to trip themselves up and can try and use your posts against you.

I was less than 10 minutes late
    No.

If that was a good idea, the NEWBIES thread would tell you to talk about the story of what happened. Quite the opposite! DON'T.

Thank you and OK - have listened - just sending template only with just keeper name and address exactly as on letter . thanks again - understand that it is old news for you on this thread but if this is the first time for people it is ALL new and still quite nerve racking .

online form says choose from registered keeper, driver and registered keeper, hire/ lessee or none of the above
Next box says Name. Stupid again but select registered keeper, and type name and address exactly as they have quoted yes ?

Just make sure that the last box you tick is registered keeper. Some of these sites have a nasty habit of defaulting back to DRIVER! Take a screenshot of the page JUST BEFORE you hit submit.
  • now they want reason for appeal

what do i type there -
