What meals to expect on a TUI long haul flight

Looking at the TUI website highlighted in post 22 it does seem to indicate you have to pay for some alcholic drinks during your flight. So from that it does not appear to be a free bar for all of your journey.
Likes of champagnes is chargeable.
Likes of Wine Vodka Lager etc is free0 -
We have just returned on a TUI Dreamliner from Barbados. On the outward flight (daytime) we had a hot chicken meal for lunch, with a chocolate pot dessert. It was edible but not great. Later in the flight we had 'afternoon tea' - a cheese roll and a scone with jam & cream.
On the return we had a chicken pasta dish followed by carrot cake, again both ok. Later, in the early hours, we were given a sausage & egg muffin which was quite disgusting and most seemed to be consigned to the bin. They could have been used as ice hockey pucks!
As for drinks, the trolley was soon in action both ways, and everything was complimentary except champagne. Spirits were dispensed from a large bottle rather than miniatures, and measures were generous. Seconds were freely available on the trolley's return along the aisle. Wine was offered with the meal, again from full size bottles. Some people were going to the galley at the rear for extra drinks, and the cabin crew were happy to serve them.
It has to be said that the plane was chartered entirely for cruise passengers, which may make a difference. Some people joining the ship flew Thomas Cook, similarly chartered, where there was apparently no free bar.:dance:We're gonna be alright, dancin' on a Saturday night:dance:0 -

I wasn’t cruising, I stayed in the sensatori. It was a free bar on the plane.0 -
If you want coffee or tea during the flight is there a machine to help yourselves or do you have to ask the Cabin Crew.Is it available throughout the flight without any extra charge0

if you travel by Thomas Cook airlines on a long haul you get virtually nothing again. I would not btravel with them again long haul. i believe TUI as much more generous. I cannot see there being a coffee machine on an aircraft, I have neever seen one. I would think because of the hot drink this would be something controlled by tthe Cabin Crew.0

The Main meal is almost certainly going to be chicken based. The food generally fills a hole but it not very tasty, The wine poured from the bottle is low standard and we found the red to have a vinegar taste. The spirits are good. It is a good idea to take a sandwich or a roll with you on board in case. Also maybe have breakfast at the airport before you depart does not go amiss. It will be at least two hours into your flight before you are fed and watered. A bottle of water is also worthwhile.0

I do not want to be a killjoy. Free Alcoholic drinks are great but in moderation. Remember alcohol dehydrates the body whilst flying, which is not good on a long haul journey. Drink plenty of water. Enjoy0

Despite the unlimited alcohol I had a glass of rose with the main course and only drank half, the other times I chose non alcoholic drinks off the trolly.0 -
