I have neglected my diary. I think it's hard having one as you have to be really honest with yourself and not updating my diary allows me to do that BUT it won't get me on a better financial footing so here we go again.
Pay day tomorrow and everything is in order. Getting paid less again this month so my target is to make about £300 to make up the shortfall.
I am 50 in 3 years and have lots & lots of plans including some financial ones. One of them is to try and make £10 a day - some basic maths show that this could be over £10k before I am 50. I started last night with earning £60 at a focus group (all about credit scoring!!)
I will update more shortly - boys are calling! XX0 -
Good to "see" you back! The other thing about avoiding our diaries is that nobody can challenge what we are doing (says the woman who forgot about DH's credit card bill and had to juggle some savings back to running costs yesterday). We see each other's diaries because we all started them. The support is here when you want or need it.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far
I also Reverse Meal Plan on that thread and grow much of our own premium price fruit and veg, joining in on the Grow your own thread

Thanks Suffolk Lass your comments are much appreciated. I did think about you earlier today :rotfl: I am going to give the 8WBSD another bash on Monday. I reckon another 1.5 stones off will make my summer clothes fit comfortably and I can't afford a while new summer wardrobe so very :money:I think :rotfl:
I spent a lovely hour earlier say in the conservatory well it was a pleasant surrounding :rotfl: the task in hand not so  I started my spending diary as someone earlier suggested I ought to do. It was a real eye opener seeing how much I had spent today without really thinking - it was mainly food and a few bits for Easter - I still have my main food shop to be delivered on Saturday  I am not sure if a £100 pw for the 4 of us is realistic or not
More to come later xx0 -
My spending diary is one of the best things I have done , it makes me realise what I am spending on and whether my budget is right.
The sunny weather makes you feel so much better, I hope you get chance to enjoy it this weekend.Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.0 -

Thanks SG I think my spending diary will be an eyeopener!
The sunny weather is lovely and looking forward to it. We are going to make the most of our National Trust membership and visit a property or two! They have fantastic play areas for the boys. Hope you get decent weather too xx0 -
Welcome back
I need to do a spending diary too, I definitely overspend on groceries."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0 -
Thanks jwill! Whilst I was awol I read your diaries and it made me think of I don't get on top of stuff I will still be in the same position in 10 years time so thank you for helping me to get back on track! You have also inspired me to start putting some stuff on one side to do a carboot and start ebaying again.
Hope you have a lovely Easter with your two little ones xx0 -

Evening BB50
Hope you've all had a lovely Easter weekend. I started keeping a note of everything I spent when I started my diary. It definitely gives you an idea of where money goes and is quite an easy habit to get into.
We probably spend about £90-100 every week on groceries for 3 of us but we don't eat out or buy lunches so it covers all our meals and snacks. I tend to think that the average cost of £4.50 for us all for 3 meals a day isn't bad really.
Good luck with your plans for making extra money and getting things sorted before you're 50. xx0 -

Thanks Tea - we've had a fab Easter - hope you did too? My 6yr old asked if the Easter bunny would be arriving on a motorbike as it would be too tiring to hop to everyone's houses - how cute is that :rotfl:
I think you were one of the people who inspired me to keep a spending diary - this last week my over spending has been on food & summer clothes!! I have had a week off with the boys and done loads of free or very cheap things including lots of picnicking.
Thank you for sharing your grocery bill amount. I think £100 for the 4 of us should be enough and it covers lunches for me & DH. Boys get theirs at school and nursery. I always meal plan but I seem to be spending a lot on snacks so need to look into that xxx0
