I drink a fair bit of water anyway to be honest but have recently discovered the cold infuse tea bags. Put one of these in a water bottle and it makes plain water a whole lot nicer :)
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

I saw your post on HappyNow’s diary and thought I’d pop over to your diary to how you’re getting on. I’m sorry that you have had a difficult time – I know how horrible it is to be burgled. I hope all the bad stuff is behind you now.

I think it is a good idea to start with a couple of things when you want to make changes – keep it simple and you will succeed. I started drinking more water a few years ago and found it difficult initially but eventually it became part of my regular routine. Now it is a habit and I don’t even think about it.

Well done on the debt reduction and good luck with your 5 year plan.

Thanks Elnora, everyone is so lovely and friendly on Happy Nows diary. I am plugging away! I am trying with a couple of things at a time so hopefully they will become habits! XX

Ooh what a good idea I will add them to next week's shopping list. Do they taste like warm fruit tea? I am not a fan of warm fruit tea. I am such a coffee addict but am trying to cut down and drink more green tea which I like. Xx
• I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend so far? DH & I got up early and have nearly cleaned the house through - I just have the kitchen to do. My third load of washing is on and my shopping has been delivered so feeling very productive :D

I am off to the theatre this afternoon (tickets paid for months ago) but we are having tea after and a couple of cocktails in a big city so could be expensive  however I have a budget and will stick to it. DH is doing manly things with the boys (trip to Halfords!) He has been given a budget too cos I know what he's like in these shops & will buy allsorts. Boys have been told if they are good he will take them out for lunch - they are now squabbling over which burger chain to go to :rotfl:

When I did my online shop they didn't have my usual bacon so I downgraded! Ds1 demanded a bacon sandwich for breakfast this morning so being a good mum I made him one :rotfl: it took me right back as the cheaper bacon had rind on it. It's years since I had to cut that off!

My light bulb is really flickering at the moment a d I need to find a couple of hours to sit down and make plans and number crunch. This will have lots of targets & milestones in. Fingers crossed I can do that tomorrow - we have no plans so a day at home getting ready to go back to school on Monday and a detailed plan to become debt free :D:D:D:D:D:D xx
• Finally a couple of hours to myself to get my thoughts and targets down on paper (on screen!). I started this diary because I wanted a better balance in my life by the time I reach a certain age :D

Money
Long term targets
Mortgage free - 31/1/2032 (it's currently 2040)
Long term Debt - 1/9/2024
Short term Debt - 20/6/2021
Emergency Fund of £10,000 by 1/9/2024

Monthly Targets
Pay at least £500 to short term debt which currently stands at £9,492.60 and does include some interest bearing stuff
Pay at least £100 to Emergency Fund

Daily Targets
Do not borrow from small saving pots - if do borrow add to short term debt and pay back
Check for surveys on a daily basis.

Health
Long term targets:
Lose 7.5 stone in 2.5 years

Monthly targets
Lose 3.5lbs per month
Tick something off of my list of 50 things by 50!

Weekly Target
Step target of 60,000

Daily Target
Follow SW and record everything I eat
Have a 12 hour eating window
In bed and lights out by 11pm and up by 7.15 on weekdays

House
Long term target
Be in a financial position to change downstairs layout and have a new kitchen 1/9/2024
Decorate and declutter every room 31/12/2020

Monthly Target
Finish decorating the Hall, Stairs and Landing by 31/10/19

Daily Target
Deal with all post and letters from school on the day it arrives.
Do one thing a day towards getting the house to where I want it.

Phew I think that's it - fairly demanding but this should achieve my balance.

As I have daily targets I will need to update these on a daily basis - starting tomorrow

I Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.

happiness isn't achieved by getting extra things,
but by getting rid of the things that make you unhappy
