In comes up in the F drive showing as Mp3 recordings, but it does now show in the same fashion as it does with SD card inserted in my tablet with song title , artist, album etc.
... because one or the other is reading file names, the other is reading tags. And you haven't changed the tags.
Make a copy of the SD card to your PC before you change anything.0 -

I have now downloaded an MP3Tag app what happens next. I will place my SD csrd into the reader then into a USB port on my PC. Then do I go to the MP3Tag which at the moment is blank. Will it pick up the music from my SD card automatically or do I have to do something manually before rearranging the artists and songs into a more structured format. This will be very useful when making up playlists on my SD card.

Use the Open Folder button in mp3tag to open the folder containing the files you want to change0 -
I am a complete novice when it comes to anything vaguely technical so please excuse my ignorance. I have music on my SD card some of it is from my collection of CDs and others i have downloaded in MP3 formal from U tube. The former is already stored in my music on my PC. How will I be able to store the music from U Tube which is on my Sd card onto my PC. I live in fear, having read other people experiences of losing all the music on my SD card without the appropriate back up. Also I will set up an MP3tag which has been highlighted on this very useful post.0

I also lost all my music on my SD card, which is use on my tablet, for no apparent reason. If I put it on a MP3Tag will it remain there or is directly linked to the SD card and if I lost the music on one will it automatically delete the music on the other. If I store the music, again like otheres have mentioned some of was downloaded from U Tube, will it use a lot of the available storage in the elements storage on my Windows 10, which is looking quite full at the moment probably because of my photographs.0

Mp3Tag is simply a utility, it doesn't "store" or otherwise manage your files, you need to do this yourself manually. If you run Mp3tag against your files on the SD card then that'll be the location it'll point to the next time you open it. As already mentioned you're better off having a backup of the original files somewhere on your hard drive to edit before transferring them back over onto your SD card.0 -

You can't be that much of a novice if you managed to save mp3 from YT

Connect SD card or mobile device to PC.
Navigate to folder containing music on card or device
Copy/paste to a location on your PC0 -
What a great idea my music on my SD card is in urgent of tidying up and better cataloging so the artist always appear first. at the moment it is rather a mess. Just to clarify what I need to do in the correct order.
1 Download onto my PC a MP3Tag
2 Put my SD card into a usb with my card reader
It is then I am not quite sure what is my next step. Exactly what screen do I need to enter which will show my SD card contents exactly as it shows on my tablet0 -
