I regularly travel by myself but I always know where I am going, where I am need to go for transport, where my hotel is beforehand. This was a situation I had never been in. Plus my booking was AI so I didnt need to leave the hotel expect for any planned trips if I didnt want to.

Yes after the booking company had to get back on to their supplier as what they originally offered was b&b.

So I don't understand what that part of your complaint is about. You originally booked AI, and the hotel that they put you up in also was AI.

You need to take the emotion and red herrings out of your posts and just stick to the actual facts.

This is another part that I think you should focus on when going away in future. What would you have done if you was taken ill whilst in Turkey? Even with insurance, you would have to pay the Dr/Hospital etc before claiming the money back.

Might be worth looking to get a Credit Card to take with you in furture to cover these kind of situations. I would recommend the Halifax Clarity as it's free to use abroad.

My complaint is it should never have happened in the first place. Why was a hotel that is apparently known for closing at this time of year available to book in the first place.

I am a student with low credit so the chance of getting a credit card is slim.

Excuse me? How dare you 😡 You do not know me. I am not some scrounger looking for some sort of high payout as seems to be the consensus. All I asked was was I right to accept the goodwill gesture and had I received everything I was LEGALLY entitled to (I wouldn't have cared if it was only an extra 10p as long as I knew the company hadn't fobbed me off).
