    Evening all,

Bit of an update for the old diary......

We received a letter last week from the court to say that possession of the old house had been passed back to the mortgage co. and we need to have vacated by the 7th July  So, I guess I can assume that's it then..... it's no longer ours? I assume there will be more paper work on it's way about it though at some point.

I don't know if I ever posted about this, but (after advice from the lovely Debt Doctor) we applied for and were awarded housing and council tax benefit back in March, which was a great help. I, of course, informed the OR right away (good little BR than I am).... not that he ever replied mind you.

Anyway, to cut a VERY long story short - it would seem that some <insert swear word of your choice here> at the local housing office put my details in wrong and put my weekly wage in as monthly :( Resulting in a HUGE overpayment and, now that they've realised, new payments of £300 less per month and NO council tax benefit at all :(

I know we managed before without that extra money and of course we'll manage again, but it was a massive blow - I mean, you get used to what's coming in don't you and live accordingly. The timing could NOT have been worse either - they stopped my payments immediately and the rent (3 months of it) is due at the end of this month. We've got it (just) but we'll be on bread and dripping for the next month <weak laugh>.

I've been advised that I've got a very good case for having this overpayment written off because this was not my fault in any way at all - I supplied them with everything they asked for.... payslips, tax credit award, bank statements, the lot. I will be appealing of course, but I could really do without this right now.

STILL heard nothing from the OR re IPA  No news is good news I suppose. I'll be writing to him tomorrow anyway to let him know about the recent change of finances so I'll wait and see what he says about it (if anything!).

    <deep sigh>

*hug* I'm sorry they cocked up with your housing benefit payments it does seem a bit steep losing £300 a month. Fingers crossed they let you come to a bit more of a compromise....

Hi all and a big hug to Scarlett and Potless. I hope you have sorted this and the council will write it off...if it's not one thing it's another eh?

I'm sorry I've been quiet. I've been an ostrich and have still not actually filed for the BR myself. I am going to do it by the end of the month though so please feel free to PM me and badger me lol

I had cancelled our appointment as we were moving to a different Local Authority and have now found I shouldn;t have and I still need to filed under the old LA...hey ho!

Anyway, I hope you are ok Scarlett. Drop me a PM if you can and tell me how you're doing X

    Good evening all :)

Not much to update really....... all gone quiet from the OR's office, last communication was an email to tell me I didn't need to send in my payslips anymore. Oh no, I forgot, I did email him to tell him about the HB and CTB fcuk-up and he replied to say, along the lines of, because it happened after BR it can't be included (which I knew, that wasn't why I was telling him!) and was up to me to sort out  I got the impression, from reading between the lines, that I was annoying him telling him of every little change in circumstances :o but I figured better to tell him too much than not enough ;) He did say in his reply to me "seeing that you do not have an IPA set up then this will have no effect on your BR estate"........ does that mean that they won't be setting one up? Surely, if they were they'd have started the ball rolling by now?

I can't believe that it's been over 5 months now since we did the deed..... it's flown by :)

House STILL hasn't been formally reposessed (anyone else bored of this yet?!) but we did have a letter from NR last week saying that they were now at the stage of applying to the court for a reposession date and would let us know when the baliffs gave them a date, so surely (please god) it shouldn't be too much longer??

ccastley, you minx, I was wondering where you'd got to ;) will pm you now.

Well everything seems to be plodding along nicely for you. Can't believe it has been 5months already. Nearly half way there.

Hope you and Potless are both well.
