    Good morning all,

Thought I should update this because I haven't been on here for aaaaaaaaages :o , not that there's actually a lot to update......

Things are finally moving on the respossession front with Northern Rock. The hearing has been set for court for the 2nd June. We received a load of forms from the court and rang them to see what (if anything we needed to do). Once we explained the situation (that we wouldn't be contesting it in anyway) they said we didn't need to attend, in fact we didn't actually have to do anything, but that it would be helpful to write a letter explaining that we wouldn't be attending and why etc.... and this would be read out in court on the day. So, that was done and duly posted last week. Also send a letter to the OR telling him the latest too.

Still heard absolutely nothing from the OR about the IPA, BRO or anything. I've been sending in my payslips each week, as requested. I've also told him of some changes in my financial circumstances (wages going down, tax credits going up etc....) but he never replies...... I'm assuming he's getting them though!

So, that's it for now really. Still getting used to this new way of living...... this 'cash only' malarky is very strange after years of CCs, overdrafts etc.... and I still feel the odd twinge of guilt when I buy anything (old habits are hard to break eh?). I took my youngest into town on Sunday to buy new school shoes (hardly a radical and frivolous purchase ;) ) and I STILL had that moment at the till (will my card go through, won't it?) which is madness. I now know to the nearest £ what is in my bank account at any given day so I knew the money was there...... but still...... old habits and all that :o

All in all, life is good right now. There IS life after BR :D But still feeling slightly "in limbo" until we hear from the OR and know what's happening with the IPA and BRO, but I suppose he'll let us know in his own good time

Wow!! I have just sat with cup of tea reading this from start to finish. Cup of tea has gone cold, I am snuffling from the bits where I was crying, but just wanted to say I am incredibly thankful for you taking the time to write all of this out.

I have told Dh that he needs to get on here and start reading some of these threads, but he is still burying his head to a certain extent.

Scarlet, thank you so so much.

    Hi all :)

Merry Gentry and brooksie bear, I am, as always, humbled and touched that reading my wafflings has helped you in even a small way. When I first started this thread (7 months ago now  ) I never imagined life could turn out as well as it has. I am a totally different person to that nervous mess that I was at the beginning.

brooksie - I actually had an email from our OR last week (nearly wet myself when I saw his name pop up :o ) to say that I don't need to send in my payslips anymore and that he'll be in touch "if he requires any further information", whatever that might mean! STILL no mention of IPA or BRO and I'm not chasing him about either :rotfl: Some days I think "maybe, just maybe, we might not have either imposed on us", but I know these things can take time (I never thought this much time though!) so I'm certainly not counting any chickens just yet ;)

  • Hi Scarlett,
I just wanted to say thanks for positng your diary, I am about to start filling in the BR forms, and as soon as I get my co-op account through, I will get my CTC and CB paid to that, will come off the joint bank account and will get the process moving, so reading your diary has been a great help after last night when I was near hysteria!

  • at the moment then i would think no news is good news.

and if you can stop sending your wage slips in it must mean he's happy with it.

no i'd stay out of his way aswell, let them come to you. 7months been long time now, only.......5more until automatic discharge and you never know you might get lucky and get an ED.

    xx

What a wonderful thread, My wife & I are looking at the prospect of going bankrupt or IVA, both of us are completely numbed by all the ramifications, your thread has actually given me a glimmer of hope for the 1st time in two weeks.
Question: Does anybody come around to view/assess items within the house (kids computers, TV's etc) & can they be taken away. Seems silly really to bother about it, but I don't think I could bear to see the children losing their equipment.
Question: What is an ED and an IPA.
    Thanks
