Sorry to bring this up again.
I have just checked my shift patterns for this week...38 hours and 30 minutes i am in for.
And my manager has said he won't fire me and if i don't do 4 weeks notice he won't pay.
Your manager is a twonk
Im guessing you are working for one of the big supermarkets?
You have to give one weeks notice as you are not through your probation period so as long as notice hits them Monday morning, you finish Friday and all out standing monies will be paid. He has no say on payroll0 -

So you didn't agree to them hours.
Speak to him and say you can only do your contract hours.0 -
I'm just very stubborn but i appreciate all the comments.
..but not stubborn enough to stick to your contracted hours.
Hard to believe this is anything other than a made-up post, given your ridiculous attitude to your own health.Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0 -
Have I got this right - the contract says 16 hours a week, the OP for some reason unexplained doesn't just say 'no' when additional shifts are allocated, and your advice is to just abruptly quit without notice...?
The OP also has a terminal heart condition and his cardiologist and GP have advised him not to work.0 -

This has crossed my mind also. Although I generally try to assume people are being honest, there's a distinct mismatch between the claim that the OP is need of a hear transplant and the claim they are currently a student, working 30 hours, and their biggest concern is three weeks' pay.0 -
Fact: You need money to keep a roof over your head etc.
What you need to do is first find out benefits you are entitled too, and would make it make a difference if you quit or get sacked.0 -
Thank you for your advice i appreciate it.
And no it's not made up at all...see below my shift rota taken.
And also my employment details which states sixteen hours per week.

Head over to the benefits board and seek advice before effectively resigning without notice. Doing so may disqualify you from certain benefits for a not inconsiderable period.0 -
Thanks for your replies.
And just to make it clear i have asked my manager multiple times to change my hours and he has simply refused!0
