Hardware failure

There's a couple of threads in the Up Your Income section that don't function properly. The Maximising Income sticky thread only goes as far as page 63, can't seem to get to anything more recent. Same with the Home Based Business thread.

I've also been going through the Great 'Bit On The Side' Hunt, and I'm having similar issues on that too.

A newbie member has commented in the 'I wanna' board about the sticky thread 'Nintendo WII wanted (merged threads)'............that it won't allow him to read beyond page 18:

The most recent posts are there

It's actually the earlier posts that are missing, up until late June (see page 1)

edit - page 1 of those threads, I meant (in case I've caused confusion)

That’s a very thorough investigation. It’s a bit worrying that the whole ends at the time of a previous problem. I’m praying to the god of backup tapes that the missing posts are stored somewhere.

Martin’s message implies that the forum, as we see it running at this moment in time, is what was recovered from the live system, without any recourse to backups. So, presumably, the backups themselves are not missing. Of course, you only discover if your backups are good and that you’ve backed up what you thought you had, when you come to use them.

Wrap it all up in brown paper, and put it in a post on this thread. If the techies do have to roll back the forum to how it was on Sunday, your post, debt and brown paper will be gone. Just as if it never happened. That reminds me of a number of classic MSE threads.

Has anyone posted Murphy's no more pie thread? All posts prior to 29th June appear to have gone. And pages won't display and sticks at page 47... I have 40 posts per page.

how do you get to page 2?

I'm trying to enter hexadecimal on the end of the link but I can't get it to work
