Took doggie to vets this morning - he had a callus on his leg, anyway all ok and nothing to worry about. Came home and walked both dogs in the rain. The. Went out for my run - training for the Brighton Marathon - signed up in a moment of madness and now pride won’t let me chicken out. Managed just over 8 miles which was hard going in the wind and rain.
Snoozer happy birthday to Steve. Also - my mum lives near the Eagle and Child. I went to school in Leyland, left school in 1983. My great grandad and his brothers all had farms in the Leyland area. My grandad lived with his sister at the farmhouse until he died. They had a chicken farm. Runshaw college was just getting established around then. I worked there for a while - there’s now over 2000+ students.
Dumpling - please get checked out
I have arranged to meet up with friends this weekend, early train tomorrow then back home Sunday afternoon. Can’t wait.
Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take care."You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Good evening chums thanks again for all the good wishes I had a fantastic birthday with the family, and got well and truly spoiled.
I had my lovely cosy electric throw from my eldest DD and goodness know what else from the youngest, and the boys When I finally got home after lunch with the youngest DD and DGD and DGGD yesterday then dinner plus cake at DD's last night my neighbour had taken in a lovely bouquet of flowers sent by my DGS Jack who is in Hertfordshire at Uni .Bless him he is not very well off at the best of times, and I worry about him having enough to live on with his grant which is not very large at all, but I spoke to him to gently tell him off about buying the flowers and he said
'Don't worry Gran you are my go-to person when I need someone to natter to, and you are always there throughout my life, and you are my rock, and I had put this aside from my Christmas wages to get you something nice'
Bless him he is such a smashing lad and the lady who gets our gentle Jack will be very lucky, as he is so kind hearted and would give his last penny away to make you happy.
I feel so privileged to have these kind hearted boys as my grandsons. They all bought me different things ,even the youngest Mikey had got me some nice candles .
Today my DGS Danny in the U.S. facetimed me and we had a nice natter, I had some smashing bath and hair stuff from him and his wife which are from my favourite smelly shop Jo Malone. I feel so lucky to have such a nice bunch of folk around me friends and family are so important to me.
I am out tomorrow to dinner with another friend who I have known for many years and we shall be raising a glass or two as well.
Today's weather has been appalling ,like a new-born its been wet 'n'windy all day
Eldest DD had to drive up to Norwich for a 9.00.a.m. meeting this morning and left at 5.00.a.m. and phoned me at 7.30 having a minor melt down as she somehow had got on the wrong road and was lost somewhere in Cambridgeshire I calmed her down and managed to tell her how to get back to the A14 and she got there with 10 minutes to spare.at just after lunch she phoned again to say she was leaving at 2.00 to drive home and at 5.00p.m. she phoned again to say she was just approaching the QE2 bridge and the traffic and weather was dreadful.I again got her to think about not panicking and taking it easy as Friday night in bad weather on the M25 is not a good mix for stressing out .
She finally got home around 6.30.p.m. fed up with the dreadful day and has promised if she has to go to head office again from Kent she will go the night before, and stay in an hotel as she really hates motorway driving, and bad weather doesn't make for calm meetings
Best part is, she has satnav in her car and still gets lostno sense of direction whatsoever bless her
Apart from keeping her calm DGS Henry had forgotten his key to get in and I had to pick him up from school as his other brother Mikey was away on a trip with the school, and his key was with him
It's just been one disaster after another for them today, but luckily I am around to calm them down and sort them out as their Mum and Dad were both at worklooks like I won't be made redundant just yet from my 'granny duties'
One of DDs present yesterday was a rock salt lamp which is really nice and gives out a lovely glow in the sitting room and is very restful
Hopefully the weather will calm down as I have a few things to get foodwise tomorrow I was going today, but what with one thing and another I didn't get the chance.it will be my first shop of february which is good as I am still eating from the freezer.
Oh liberty bodices I remember those awful things with rubber buttons that dug in all over the place and the dreadful suspenders we wore in the late 1950s ,to me tights were the best invention since sliced bread
right I am off to bed for a read Hope everyone is warm and dry and <<hugs >> for those in need of one
Take care all good night God Bless all here
