  • DUMPLING my love, will you please check with your GP or nurse regarding your"flu like symptoms". It could very well be to do with the problem with your legs and not flu.

It isn't something that should be ignored, best to check with those who know.

I am sorry you are suffering so much, the sooner your problem is sorted the better.

    I hope you didn't mind me de-lurking

    Afternoon from Mehefinland
Just a quick pop in to say thanks for the concern re equine flu. Having had a pony suffer it some years ago ( a horrible experience) we have always had our girls vaccinated. Hopefully it has been caught in time.

hugs and spoons to those in need

    Afternoon all.
I have been trying to post for the last hour but our internet security hadn't updated itself to the new licence, so I passed my laptop to my tech man and he took ages to sort it out :D
It was lashing down with rain this morning but we had to go out to collect Mr Fix It's script and get it filled at the chemist. We, in our infinite wisdom decided that as we were already wet we would go on to the garden centre. We had to go through the lanes and I think a boat would have been better than the car, as most of the lanes were flooded and Mr Fix It thought he was on the Welsh Rally . We had a voucher to spend and I need new secateurs, however Mr Fix It forgot to take it and couldn't find it on his phone........ so no secateurs :(. Honestly I don't know why I keep him, oh well I suppose he did sort out my laptop :rotfl:.
I have filled the DW and started it up and that's all I've done :o. Still got 1 box of photos to go through but I'm having to be ruthless as DD and the DGC will not want millions of photos of past relatives. So I'm just keeping a few of each, in different stages of life.
Tea will be a pork and rice dish from the freezer.

Snoozer please wish Steve a very happy birthday and I'm glad he's feeling a little better. It's not much fun when you're ill on your birthday.
Gers good luck with the retirement when it's time. You'll probably be more busy than when you were at work :rotfl:
Camelot your comment about your vest reminded me of my childhood and having to wear director knickers . I still shudder at the thought !
Oh and someone mentioned goose grease ( sorry I have forgotten who :o ). I can still remember having that spread on a brown paper poultice frequently, I was such a sickly child :(
Right enough going down memory lane..... I am going to get stuck in my own reminiscences in the last photo box.
Take care all, hope all the poorly people pick up soon.
    nan xx

    Afternoon everyone

dumpling - I second whoever previously urged you to seek medical advice, you don't sound well at all and it could be related to your problems with your legs - better to be safe and get it checked out.

    Keep safe and well x

    Afternoon.

It's certainly very windswept here, I almost had to hold DM down when walking from the car park to the hospital. Again, another efficient and smooth appointment, this time in the CT suite.

On the way out DM asked to go to the M&S food hall nearby, I couldn't say no as she's not been out shopping for weeks and weeks. So, once again I found myself in the cafe drinking coffee and watching out for her. She really enjoys choosing her own food so it was an easy hit. She then brought me the trollley, took over my left over coffee and I went off to pay.

All that made for a good day though I'll be glad to get back home tomorrow. My place may be afloat as there's an amber flood alert for low lying coastal areas. My fingers are crossed.

I've managed to finish a Mick Herron book this week which pleases me! Now I'm going to track down another one. I've read all the 'Slow Horses / Slough House one's so have to move on.

I hope everyone's safe, warm and well.

    Afternoon all

Took doggie to vets this morning - he had a callus on his leg, anyway all ok and nothing to worry about. Came home and walked both dogs in the rain. The. Went out for my run - training for the Brighton Marathon - signed up in a moment of madness and now pride won’t let me chicken out. Managed just over 8 miles which was hard going in the wind and rain.

Snoozer happy birthday to Steve. Also - my mum lives near the Eagle and Child. I went to school in Leyland, left school in 1983. My great grandad and his brothers all had farms in the Leyland area. My grandad lived with his sister at the farmhouse until he died. They had a chicken farm. Runshaw college was just getting established around then. I worked there for a while - there’s now over 2000+ students.

Dumpling - please get checked out

I have arranged to meet up with friends this weekend, early train tomorrow then back home Sunday afternoon. Can’t wait.

Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take care.
