Should I phone and say something like " Hi I was just phoning to get a repeat fit note. "
Its a nightmare having it, it just makes u overthink everything, especially things as simple as this.

Yes, as a first step. As has been said, the GP may be happy to provide one if it's an on-going problem or they may want to see you first.
  • It is a hard thing to do when you suffer from anxiety but its something you just need to over come.

You need your JSA paid, and if they have put you on extended sick then you need fit notes to go alongside this.

If this is a long term thing remember you are going to need fit notes to continue as you will be advised to claim ESA once the 3 weeks of extended sick on JSA finishes, otherwise you would remain on JSA but not on extended sick.

Will I be able to ask that though when ive only had one sick note ? Also when u asked for one did they give u it starting from when ur other one ended/ends ?

Rather than all this dancing around I would suggest contacting your surgery and asking what their approach is. I have a lovely GP and a helpful surgery, I’m sure there are some that aren’t quite as helpful, so guessing exactly how yours operates is a fruitless venture.

The one thing I think is uniform, though, is that they can’t future date so no, I don’t think it would be from Thursday next, it would be today if they don’t tell you to wait until next week.
