Morning everyone
I’ve woken up to a really wet, windy miserable day here unfortunately. I have to go out in it today as well.
I’m going to stay with my brother for one or two nights, my sister in law is going away with her friends for a few days and he will be on his own. As he is taking a couple of weeks off work it is an ideal time for me to go over.
At least I don’t have to worry about food for a couple of days. My brother was talking about taking me out for dinner or asking my niece to get take away for us if she is home. I’m not going to complain as it is his money.
Hester I’m sorry to hear that they stole things when they left.
Sorry that things are difficult for you right now Dumpling.
I’m going to a group for the first time a week today taff. It is their monthly coffee meet up so the organiser thought it would be a good starting point.
Snoozer I was pleased to hear that Steve is feeling better.
JackieO your skin sounds sore. I hope it is a bit better now.
Happy Birthday Jackie :bdaycake:
Take care everyone x0 -

Happy birthday Jackie O.
Although I'm happy to go to Brighton it's a trek for a number of people, maybe something in the middle of the country would be better for more of us.
Steve seems to be continuing to improve, I wouldn't let him come to Lidl with me yesterday which was a good decision because it was very busy. We did go to a farm shop in the afternoon to buy a piece of venison. It's for his family birthday meal on Sunday, normally I would do a rib of beef but Laura has stopped eating beef, lamb or pork because of their impact on the environment. Venison is ok because it's not farmed and doesn't have such an impact, it is from the herd at Woburn Abbey and I hope I don't mess up the cooking.
I was very tired yesterday and a bit weepy (which isn't like me at all) but I've been slowly working through the housework. We can't use the downstairs loo atm because it won't stop running once it is flushed, I managed to get it to stop by fiddling with something in the cistern but it's very delicately balanced, Steve wants to see if he can do something with that. It's amazing how much we miss it when we have only had it for 10 of the 37 years we have lived here.0 -
Quick pop back to wish JACKIE a very Happy Birthday with lots of cake.
DGDs ushered through the door for school at 7.45. Manic tidy up session, followed by my poached egg on toast, now awaiting DS arriving for the Aldi dash. Bags and list at the ready.
Good to hear your DD is fighting your corner HESTER. The tenant from hell is still living up to her name. I'd have the police on her for theft.
Take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Morning everyone,
Happy Birthday JackieO hope you are suitably spoilt by your lovely family :bdaycake:
Still here and reading along, it’s just that nothing much exciting is happening here and I seem to post the same every day!
Glad that Steve is feeling a tad better Snoozer but only natural you are feeling a little weepy, you have a lot on your plate as his carer?
Nice that you are going to spend some time with your brother Holly.
 on your Mum leaving the house open when she goes out Nelski hopefully your man can get things sorted soon.
Have a good day folks x0 -
good morning chums and thank you all for your kind words and wishes
I am going out to lunch with my youngest DD tess at 12 which will be nice and then will be eating dinner there tonight as well as the boys like to spoil me a bit
Just had a nice face time with my little great granddaughter Erin who has learned how to clap and wave and beams gummily at everyone She will be one next month and the time has just flown by
She is wobbling around on her little legs and beams to show how pleased she is with her efforts Such a very cheerful little girl.
I will have a facetime conversation with my eldest DGS when he wakes up as he is 5 hours behind UK time in the U.S.
I got the electric throw form my DD and its gorgeous and will keep me nice and cosy in the evenings.
Just been opening my cards and gifts from various family and friends and I am quite touched at how kind and thoughtful they have been.
I really am a very lucky lady with my triberight, time for some coffee.
Hope everyone has a lovely day, here in north Kent the sun is actually shining at the moment, which is nice, but who knows how long it will last
Thanks again chums
Love 'n' stuff

Lainey, thanks. I'm one of those people who can keep going through any crisis, I only let go when things are ok again. For instance, when my little brother was 3 he cut the end off one of his fingers, neither mum nor dad could go into the treatment room at the hospital with him so I (at 15) went in with him. I think that makes me seem quite hard faced to some people, I rarely cry when people die, I'm the one running round making sure everyone is fed and that all the arrangements are made. I pay for it later.0

Morning all from a very wet and windy Mehefinland
Well I think we have had all four seasons in a week and it ain't looking much better. One of the down sides of living near the coast is that there is nothing much to break up the wind. Gales just roar up the Bristol Channel. there a few trees down a bit further inland. The mares are skittish as they aren't fussed on it but funnily are quite happy if its raining ( not too much thought!). These 2 are definitely not street wise. Miss the little pony to tell the what to do.
Rileycat took one look out of the barndoor and rapidly retreated to his snug little nest in the haystore. Will have to kick him out later or I will be finding little 'presents' hidden everywhere.
Not much else going on so will send hugs and spoons as usual. Oh and Hoppy Burpday JackieO!

Morning all! Took the requisite two hours to come to again, read about TA's poached egg so went for boilt eggs, very nice too.
No plans again today. I'll take a mac n cheese out of the freezer and there's some fajita stuff left over so a right old mix up tonight..
I am amassing a quantity of old jeans to make a throw for the sofa, will be making [ at some point this year] a loose cover for it, the colour has faded quite a bit and there are the usual suspects marks on it [coffe etc], it did used to be a strong light raspberry pink, now it's a bit dull. There's no point in replacing it until all lastering/wiring/central heating has been done so that'll be at least another two years, probably three. I can unpick bits and use it for something else when we're done with it.
All this sitting round and thinking is no good for my future self, I keep finding things for me to do!
Nelski, could have been worse yesterday...and liver? ooooo....mine's still in the freezer awaiting bacon....is yours moroccan stylee this time or just standard? Camelot, well done on the nice sleep! TA, enjoy the cooking and the company, btw, I'm totally taking it easy...I'm so easy now I'm almost a puddle on the floor...nmlc, ge it done, don't blow yourself up! Had a quick google and if you have the time and inclination to repeat things a few times, baking soda and vinegar does a fair-ish job...Careful Gers, don't do yourself an injury..AOD, don't get blown away! Holly, enjy the holiday wih your brother, and good to hear you getting out and about, and hope the group is helpful. Also don't get blown away! snoozer, I'd imagine you're tired because you have been doing an awful lot and weepy because of the strain of steves illness and doing everything...totally normal, but try and put some stuff on other people if you have them to hand to help, don't be shy about asking, when people offer to do things it's as well to take them up on it before they change their minds..and it sounds like your flap is not closing in the toilet, but it's a quick fix, the central column thing can be replaced and they're quite cheap. Happy Birthday Jackie! Wotcha Poppy, tru...
Have the fastest Thursday in the West!Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
Happy Birthday to JackieO, your day sounds wonderful, I'm sure you'll enjoy every minute of it.
I've moved out a load from DM's bedroom so now the cleaner is doing the vacuuming. I came across a box under the bed which has my DM's childhood china doll, Gisela, complete with all her clothing with my great-grandmother made. Such a lovely find, it's amazing that my nearly 91 year Mum still treasures this doll.
Now I have to persuade Mum to cull her shoe collection! There are about 25 pairs of which she wears only two or three. Her feet are so bad with bunion scars and fused toes she can't fit into most now.
Right, time to put the room back together.0
