What does "doesn't want the Internet" mean? Very few (consumer grade) printers are accessible over the Internet. Do you mean she doesn't want a "WiFi enabled" printer? If yes, why not? Such printers will usually still have a USB connection - you don't have to setup the WiFi connection on it.

Otherwise just choose a printer which doesn't have WiFi capability.

The ones we have been looking at all say you have to go online for the drivers,to set them up.Is this not the case then.I will get the model number of the HP printer at our local Tesco.
HP DJ2630 it is actually a scanner and photo copier as well.Is this why they mention connecting to the internet?

Yes nothing at the cheap end (I would not buy a cheap aio or indeed a printer without at least 5 separate ink tanks, but anyway) you will not get a driver disk. However surely someone can download the drivers and give them over?

It is an All-In-One and it scans prints and copies. It is annoying that the manufacturer doesn't bother to produce an installation disk (CD) any more. This perhaps could be overcome by asking in the store for a printer that comes with installation CD. Otherwise it is sometimes (depending on printer) possible for friends/sisters to download the installation software onto a USB stick and use that to install the printer.

Free to collect and take away, Louth (Lincolnshire) area. USB connection, not wireless. PM me if you are interested.
I think this job really needs
    a much bigger hammer.

Won't most printers work straight off with Win10 or whatever without the need to download a driver?

If she has Windows 10 she won't need drivers, as long as it has a usb socket Windows will automatically detect it.

It won't automatically install non essential bonus software like dvd label design apps and the like, they might come on a disc in the box, but if not and she actually wants that stuff you could just download it yourself and record into dvd for her.

Thanks for all your replies.Like I said she doesn't have the internet ,she has ME and finds it difficult to concentrate and learn anything new.
It is an old laptop but it suits her ,she makes cards, types up letters etc then prints them off.She has used the photo copier part of her printer a lot for copying letters to the DHSS re claims, appeals etc.

But now it has packed up,a problem with the inks and printing I believe, and could manage with just a simple printer as she can get photocopying done at the library
So what we need to look for is a basic printer but with a usb cable ?
I cannot remember the make of printer she has had
    ,but it's several years old.
