Pocophone F1 - help needed
Comments
-
The second SIM, the one not selected for data, is likely to have only 2G service for voice and texts.
https://www.mi.com/uk/pocophone-f1/specs/When using both SIM card slots, either card can be set as the primary card, which supports 4G+/4G/3G/2G calling and data0 -
Nowadays even cheaper dual SIM phones are 'dual standby' with both SIMs 4g. And this one is not the cheapest.

Of course for mobile data and for calls+texts, you have to select separately which SIM you want to use by default.
It's likely that the dual SIM settings are the problem, unless the second SIM cannot even receive calls/texts, then it's maybe a fault with the SIM or its service status. I always set the default choice to 'ask every time' which SIM to use for outgoing calls/text.Evolution, not revolution0 -
If the cable is faulty, you have to try different cables, not different PCs. Or the same cable with other phones.
no folders?
And you haven't answered the main question about the options available in the phone after you connect it. In my latest phones the options are- Charge this device
- Transfer files
- Transfer photos (PTP)
I've sorted this one out, the solution if anyone else is having problems and searches this thread.
Swipe down on the home screen to bring up the icons that tell whether wireless is on, ringtone is muted, Bluetooth is on etc
Underneath these are all your notifications from apps like Facebook etc
Scroll right to the bottom and if you are connected to a pc then it will say USB charging and to tap for other services. If you tap it brings up the options of view folders etc and then on the pc when you double click the poco in file manager it brings up all the folders as you would get normally connecting to the pc.0 -
Is this any help from page 4 of Xiaomi's "Generic User Guide for Smart Phone"?
3. SIM, USIM, and UIM card settingsYou can only use the services of one mobile carrier on a single SIM device. Dual SIM phones provide more options depending on the number of SIM cards installed.https://i01.appmifile.com/webfile/globalimg/Joy/Global-doc/usermannual/mi_phone_user_manual_UK.pdf/%22Generic%20User%20Guide%20for%20Smart%20Phone%22
On a dual SIM device, you can set default SIM cards for making calls and using mobile data in Settings > SIM cards & mobile networks.
You can edit SIM card names which are displayed on the dial pad. To do this, go to Settings > SIM cards & mobile networks and tap your SIM card.
Options for changing preferred network types are available in Settings > SIM cards & mobile networks > Preferred network type.
Thanks for that I've looked and it doesn't really get past the basics but it's a useful guide to have
Both Sims work as I've switched them and checked and SIM 1 (whichever SIM is in there) can make and receive calls but SIM 2 can't.
In settings in dual Sims there is a default settings option with two sections, dial and internet.
The options for dial are 'not set' 'sim1' and 'sim2' and for internet just 'sim1' and 'sim2'
I've played around with them no success I need to go through and test them methodically and see if that's the answer.0
