Their email address for complaints in the T&Cs is still pointing towards a different company - Symbio soil solutions.

I submitted my monthly readings and having been with them seven months now, out of curiosity I worked out what my exact bill should be since joining, and believe it or not it comes to within £1 of what I've actually paid! I'm 62p in credit this morning, although in fairness by the end of the day I will probably be a small sum in debt but still less than a pound. Not bad, though of-course you wouldn't ever be able to work this out by referring to their bill!!

The terms and conditions on the customer portal are incomplete. They currently end mid sentence part way through.

    T&Cs on homepage:
We can increase your automatic payments to cover the Electricity we think you will use during the winter months once the refund has reduced your credit balance.

    T&Cs on customer portal:
We can increase your automatic payments to cover the Electricity we think you will use during

And that is where they end. There are eleven other sections on the homepage T&Cs. You need to accept these incomplete T&Cs in order to submit your reading today.

I was able to submit my readings via the app this month with no issue. My usage for August 257 against 595 forecast. However they have assured me my eac has been reduced and hopefully will be reflected in the September forecast.

It is not possible to submit meter readings this month without accepting the new Terms & Conditions ...
    Yes that's a nasty little trick they've pulled !

I've managed to submit my reading without accepting the t & cs.  Just don't log into your account and choose the 'Meter Read' option instead on this page.    https://symbiocustomersportal.co.uk/

Nice try Symbio but nowhere near good enough !

Doh!!! I missed that one.

Anyway, I plan to switch at the end of this fix anyways, in January.

"Promotional" offers not for existing customers PAH!!

Symbio getting absolutely roasted on trustpilot. It's seems I'm not the only one who is struggling to get their post final bill credit refunded. I guess I may as well kiss goodbye to my £85 credit and just get on with my life. :(

A question regarding meter readings and SMETS2 meters. My SMETS1 meter had to be replaced with a SMETS2 one (the gas one also needs to be replaced tomorrow for another reason by Zog, lucky me, two meter replacements in a month!). Symbio is being displayed on the meter as the current supplier but my list of meter readings on the website show nothing from the smart meter, only my former submitted manual readings. I also note that the text field to submit the readings manually is stuck at one digit. I have been submitting meter readings on the last day of the month and taking photographs as recommended. Will having switched to SMETS2 do this and will they be receiving meter reads? Because the last thing I want is estimated reads on the next bill.

I have taken a picture of the meter reading tonight as a precaution.
  • I was tempted to try Symbio because of how much cheaper they are than the competitors, but there's just too many horror stories to risk it I think...and I'm not sure if they will be around this time next year either.

Personally, I'd continue to submit the readings manually until you see a smart meter reading on your bill and, by the way, they pay no attention to the uploaded photos.
