bubieyehyeh said:The ombudsman has just ruled in my favour also, they agreed Symbio owe £60 which they paid before judgement, and the ombudsmen has said they need to send me a written apology and an extra £30. I'm also waiting to see if symbio accept.Interesting the ombudsman said that OFGEM have said energy supplier can't use covid as an excuse.I've just gone past the comment stage and Symbio's reason for not paying was basically COVID. They also offered £15 'good will' payment which I rejected. So it looks like they should be finding the ssme for my claim. Will be interesting to see whether they ever pay it after the ombudsman decision0

It took 3 weeks and 4 calls to get this solved. They kept making promises but failed to honour them. I hope I never will need to contact them again, except asking for the final bill.ywlgy said:
No reply so called them today. After 30 min wait, the chap said a ticket had been raised to revise the bill and it would take 10 working days...Not happy about the speed but hope it will get fixed eventually...Just cancelled my DDywlgy said:
This just happened to me...Tallerdave said:Of course their refunds of overestimated units are done using the unit rate on the current bill and not the unit rate that they actually charged you on the previous bill.
So if your unit rate has gone up, you gain. If your unit rate has gone down, you lose. It's real basic stuff that they can't get right.
I'm tempted to email them to point this out because I suspect their explanation/excuse would be comical. The expected response would be "you're correct, we'll fix it". But I don't think they have anyone intelligent enough to understand the issue.
Symbio underestimated my night usage for the previous months and now reconcile it using the new and higher unit rate, which costs me £30 more...Just sent an email asking for correction. Let's see what will happen.0 -
Nice to see they dropped my fixed direct debit back as promised after raising it slightly for 3 months to cover my account debit. I wasn't expecting it to ever go back down, I just assumed it was another money grab.

In my case they definitely are money grapping each month. My useage for this month is approx 290 units against their forecast of 542 units and this pattern of over estimating has continued for months. They then have the cheek to decide my eac should be increased by a further 500 units per year. I know I could have fixed amounts but I am concerned this will only make things worse for me.Swipe said:Nice to see they dropped my fixed direct debit back as promised after raising it slightly for 3 months to cover my account debit. I pay fixed amounts and it's fine. They did say the amounts would increase slightly when I started a second year, but they have forgotten to take the increased amount and still take the original. That's fine. I'm paying for what I use. The bills are still incomprehensible but I can work out how much I have used so far this year and see it's all okay.CRISPIANNE3 said:

Exactly how it's panning out for me in year 2.
Latest DD is same as the original agreed fixed payment, not that they quoted for the renewal tariff.
Send your meter readings in tomorrow, people, as its the last day of April!0 -
I too would suggest going the fixed direct debit route with symbio. When I was with them that’s what I did and it all seemed to work out that I was paying near break even.CRISPIANNE3 said:

You are crazy not to be on fixed DD. At least that way you have the upper hand.CRISPIANNE3 said:

As Symbio again appear to not have issued meter reading end of month reminders?
Gentle reminder to do so, tomorrow on the 30th?
My EAC is 11760kWh. My actual is circa 6700kWh
