New car not as sold by salesman

  • Basically the car I test drove had a premium package the car I’ve bought has a M Sport package, the difference being electric seats, panoramic sunroof
These don’t make it drive differently. Does the M sport package not also have larger wheels and different suspension?
  • Seems like a reasonable reason to reject the car. Salesman said it would be the same as the test drive one, and you expect that to be the case and assume what they put on the order form is the right thing.

They screwed up. I'd reject it and ask for the right model.

Not sure why you'd think BMW would knock anything off the premium pack he didn't pay for.

The point I was trying to make, sorry thought my post explained it? given the circumstances op might get a small discount for installation of any parts of the premium pack he might want to pay for?

It appears though Op did not reject it and is driving it? and it is exactly the car his paperwork states.

    That's not going to happen.

The premium pack only contains two things.

One is different front seats - electric instead of manual - which wouldn't be hard to retrofit, assuming the wiring loom isn't different. Just prohibitively expensive.

But retrofitting the panoramic roof...? Nah...

Electric seats are of no practical use unless the car is used by more than one driver. I suspect the OP isn't about to let his wife/significant other, or his mates drive his pride and joy, but I could be wrong.

As for "panoramic" roofs.... A panorama is a wide view of the scenery in the horizontal plane. A "panoramic" roof just lets you see the sky, which doesn't change much in this country. And you should be looking at the road anyway ...

We already have one post in the Loans board of someone who has a Merc on PCP with a full glass roof which has cracked and the manufacturer is wanting nothing to do with it because its fitted when the body is made and it involves all kinds of jigs and taking apart of interior to do.
It's totaly different case. Composite roofs were cracking and leaking so Mercedes put glass roof on all SLK models. If you paid extra, you could see something from inside. If you didn't pay extra, you just had it covered from inside.

However I agree, that glass roofs are usually cause of rattle and I would avoid if possible. Just drove new C-class which was rattling.
