Basically the car I test drove had a premium package the car I’ve bought has a M Sport package, the difference being electric seats, panoramic sunroof

The premium edition would be more expensive.

Did you pay the premium edition price or the cheaper price?

Did you reject the delivery or are you using the car? What are the dealer saying?

You mean the one you got DOES NOT have a panoramic sunroof? If so you want to go back to the dealership, find the salesman, grasp him firmly by the hand and give him a good thank you handshake. Believe me if you have one and the glass goes pop you'll soon find out why I said that. Panoramic sunroofs and full glass roofs are one of the biggest mistakes automotive designers ever made. They often crack and due to the way they're made it is a major job to sort out. We already have one post in the Loans board of someone who has a Merc on PCP with a full glass roof which has cracked and the manufacturer is wanting nothing to do with it because its fitted when the body is made and it involves all kinds of jigs and taking apart of interior to do.

Like I say I’ll need to check paperwork, hope it’s wrong!!
I suggest you do that as the BMW's new car order form is very specific on which options you would've selected.

FYI, M Sport isn't a "package" as such, it's a model variant, which you would then add optional packages and items on top.

    What BMW model is it?

you are being very economical with the information that you are giving regarding this making it very difficult for anybody to give useful advice

was that you have received a pre registered stock car from within the dealership or was it a customer order specifically tailored to your needs, and if you weren't happy with the car then you should have rejected it at the point of collection and refused to take it out of the show room

    what car is it ?

you are obviously not clued up on buying a BMW where you get a fairly basic often referred to as poverty spec car and then spend another ten grand adding extras and toys to make it into the car you really wanted

I’ve checked my paperwork and it does state the car I’ve been supplied. I do vividly recall the salesman stating that the car I test drove was the car we would get, guess it’s my mistake.

It’s a x3 30d msport XDrive that I have. I’ve contacted the dealer who have said they will look into it but I know I don’t have a leg to stand on

Sounds like cobblers to me. It's simply a bit of glass bonded onto the frame like any other non-opening car window over the last couple of decades. Sure, the trim might need removing, but it's designed to be removed.

It's actually less involved than windscreens, because of the calibration of all the sensors and cameras fitted to many cars now.

I suspect, without seeing the thread, that it's more a case of the manufacturer saying it's not warranty because they suspect external damage rather than manufacturing fault.

the X3 3.0D is a nice car in the M sport trim and to add the premium pack to that car would be something like a two grand option, I am surprised that the sales man missed the opportunity add an extra couple of grand to the sale

Did you actually, y'know, look at a brochure or BMW's website and determine the spec you wanted?

Or just go "Oooh, I like this one, I'll have one the same, please."?
