Unrecognized credit search

If I am concerned about nothing, reassurance will help a lot, thanks very much.
New Noddle Report dated today says Vanquis search on 29 November 2018 code AF.
I have never applied or searched on Vanquis at all and, so far, have not been able to contact Vanquis by 'phone - cut off twice with no log in details.
My Saga Platinum card has just been closed by me (paid in full and never any problems with finance at any time ever) because they were closing down anyway.
Should I be worried about this unrecognized Vanquis AF search? There is also a long search reference number and application type, sole.
Thanks so much for any thoughts, please. I wish I could get through to Vanquis to ask.

Hard or soft search?
Only if it's a hard search would I be concerned.0 -
A long shot but have you applied for any credit lately ?
If not then follow above advice.0 -
Thank you for both replies. I have not applied for any credit - how can I tell if the search is hard or soft, please?0

There’s 2 sections under Noddle for searches - which does it fall under?
Also have you used any eligibility checkers or comparison sites recently for cards?0 -
Under searches there are 'Others'' and 'Your' Searches.
The Vanquis search, purpose AF, comes under 'Others'.
I have not made any searches and had never been on Vanquis's site at all before today to try to find a telephone number.
Thanks very much.

So purpose of search is not "checking credit application"? Should be ok then.0

AF is possibly this (from Equifax website):
ApplicationFraud Investigation - AF
This search is used by a specialist investigation team when suspected Application Fraud is identified during the initial application process.
These searches are only visible to other Fraud Investigation teams.
Clearly you need to look into this, urgently.0 -

I have just read your reply, johnsmith1890 - and I am worried. I could not find any Noddle telephone access but found an email address and have sent one to Noddle - letting them know I have not made an application to Vanquis at all.
Is there anything I can do more urgently. If I have not done anything wrong, and I haven't, could this still cause me trouble with my banking or in any way at all? No one else at all has access to my banking.
What could all this 'AF' - ' ApplicationFraud Investigation' possibly mean?
Any replies and further information will be a great help, thanks.

Lately i also have seen this AF marker on my noodle account by Vanquis but i noticed that noodle added this marker recently as some of my legitimate search in the past also has this AF marker which was not there before. So i dont think this equates to Application Fraud in Noodle.
Regarding Vanguis search i think it was done due to checking credit card eligibility through MSC club account. Have you recently perform search on any website to check for credit card suitability.Green_garnet wrote: »I have just read your reply, johnsmith1890 - and I am worried. Just checked mine, and have a few of these. Looking at them they seem to be generated by either Clearscore or MSE.
Personally I'm not concerned, but here is the email address for Noddle if you want to ask them what AF means contact@noddle.co.uk u0
