    hi all, again a spendy day today as I bought decongestant stuff for a persistent cold plus some crystallised ginger for snacks. I will fail to reach target for this month unless I am super-careful :(

    Morning all, 4/8 for me today. I had plans to go down the street and buy bread because I forgot to put the starter on overnight to make bread this morning. But I'm just going to see if I can work round it instead with the food I've already got in the house.

    Just wanted to add to above comment that I found some porridge oats in the pantry, past the use-by date but I thought "it's oats, I bet that won't matter". I cooked them up, then remembered I had some cream, added that, then some home-made gooseberry jam. Delicious! Just goes to show you don't have to rush off to the shops just because you've run out of one thing. I know everyone else on this thread knows that already!
